Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS
The 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. is getting an exclusive multiplayer mode for up to four players. Smash Run will set players on a race to power their characters up before engaging in final throwdown when time is up.
Smash Run puts players on a huge stage filled with enemies that drop power ups when they die. These enhance one of six stats: speed, jump, attack, special, arms, and defense.
During the first five minutes of the match, players will race around the stage as they try to make themselves as powerful as possible. Once the timer runs out, it’s a battle to the death in a more traditional Smash Bros. arena. Players will also be able to pick a loadout of items before they enter the fight.
Director Masahiro Sakurai says that the final battles won’t last too long, so players will be able to have a winner declared and start anew.
