South Park Behind The Scenes Video Explains Importance Of Being Flatulent

There are not many moments when a headline about flatulence makes sense. There are even fewer when it would be considered acceptable. Where South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are concerned, it’s practically obligatory.

In a new behind the scenes video, Parker and Stone explain the importance of flatulence in South Park: The Stick of Truth. The pair liken the concept to Infamous’ lightning and Wind Waker’s manipulation of wind. Of course, it’s not enough to include the feature, South Park Studios worked with developer Obsidian to make sure players really feel it.

You’ll also get a look at how the animators and Obsidian worked together to craft an experience that captures the feel of a South Park episode. We’ll be able to finally see it all come together on March 4.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. For more, check out our cover story from January 2012.

  • laughed the whole time. by the time they showed randy getting anal probed i was crying.
  • Ive been on the fence on this for a while, but being a big fan of the show i will definitely rent this one if i can find somewhere that rents games.

  • I want this game so god damn badly.

  • I am so excited for this game.

  • This game may be one of the greatest things ever created. Everytime I see a video on it, I get more and more excited. I just wonder how long it'll be. Hell, even if it's only 3 hrs, it'll be 3 hrs of amazing. Love Trey and Matt.

  • I've had this game paid off for a whole year. I can't wait to finally play it!

  • I think I'll name my character Scrotey Mcboogerballs.
  • I wish this would come to PS4.

  • It's been so often delayed for "quality" issues I will not buy until reviews come in.
  • Pffffffffh, the beard on that lead designer. I'm a big fan of the show and planning to buy this game, but the beard was the funniest thing in this video...

  • My expectations for this game have been tempered by all the delays. I am still holding out hope that this could be a great game. Obsidian's track record isn't exactly confidence inspiring. Hopefully the last delay has allowed them the time to iron everything out.

  • I would love to see a documentary on the development of this game. This video is great.

  • I want it NOW.

  • Game of the Year material.

  • Ordered the special edition not too long ago.

  • This'll be fun.

  • "He doesn't talk, Elf-King. He thinks he's hot s*** or something." Trey and Matt are the best, every video about the game so far has shown such great, classic South Park humor. I can't wait to play a whole game full of jokes like this. They're both gamers themselves so the fact that they're writing the entire thing and filling it with gaming jokes is pretty great. I really, really hope this finally comes out on time.
  • The thing I love most about this game is like the show itself it just can't take itself seriously. I mean the developers freakin are already joking about what score the game will get XD

(Side note so thats who does Butters voice XD)

  • my problem with this game is that the fart jokes are going to get really old really fast. I just can't see putting any serious amount of time in this game. There is no way I would buy it new - maybe a short term rental or four years from now when I can pick up for $5 bucks in the discount cart.
  • hilarious, can't wait to see the final game!
