Sega All Star RAcer Review

I was pleasantly surprised with this game. I tried the demo and i wasn't impressed but i was disappointed either. The game is pretty much a copy of Mario-Kart. I bought because i went from being a Nintendo person to an Xbox person and i dearly miss Mario Kart. As a Mario Kart close is a pretty good one.

The game play is a copy of Mario Kart.  It has item that you throw or used. Allows you to block other items with your own, the driving controls are solid though drifting, which is important in this type of game i though was a little unwieldy for someone use too Mario Kart's tight controls. I eventually got used to it. The tracks them selves are imaginative but i think they sometimes are over the top and sometimes do a poor job of telling you when a turn is coming, though i enjoyed finding all the alternate routes.

The character roster is full of SEGA characters like Sonic & company, Banjo-Kazooie and a bunch of other people i don't recognize. I do not like that the vehicles are character specific, i like being able to switch them out.  Overall this is a fun kart racer and probably the best on the Xbox 360 and PS3 (until ModRacers come out) though it doesn't have much competition.
