The "Transformed" In Sonic & All-Stars Racing doesn't refer to any drastic gameplay changes from its predecessor. It's not turning into an open-world shooter. Don't expect to be solving puzzles. If you're looking for the cast of Super Mario Bros. to edge out the original roster, that's not happening. Instead, the karts themselves transform, changing from the wheeled vehicles we know and love to hovercrafts and boats.
The trailer below shows the transforming gameplay in action, as racers zip through tracks with loads of varied terrain. You can also spot a few new characters, including Golden Axe's Gilius Thunderhead and Skies of Arcadia's hero, Vyse. Why must you torment us, Sega?
