Combat is front and center in this new video for Square Enix's open-world action title. Emphasizing an arsenal of combos and takedowns, Sleeping Dogs focuses on melee combat rather than gunplay.

As a martial artist for the past 10 years, this actually looks really fun to me. However, the animations seem a bit stiff.

This trailer does not impress me, however I hope this is a sign that Square-Enix is moving on from the Final Fantasy series, because without Sakaguchi and Uematsu, those games are just pretty looking nonsensical cluster-effs.

Wonderful trailer! This game has stunned me after being announced. Really love the combat right now. Sleeping Dogs is starting to seem like a day one buy for me.

If it were anyone else doing this game, I'd be pretty unexcited, but the fact that it's Square Enix interests me. The game looks very atypical of how, I think, Western gaming sees the company.
