Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (short review)

I finally completed Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The story is decent, the twist at the end is pretty awesome and the game is filled with creepy sights and moments. However, the motion controls are annoying. They really, really drag the game down. The controls are the reason I kept putting the game aside for long stretches of time.
Also, the game is dark, and I don't mean philosophically. I had to turn the brightness up quite a bit, but that just washed out the screen. Oh, and remember how you can fight the monsters in the other Silent Hill games? Yeah, you won't find that here. You explore for a little while and then run for a little while while shaking the Wiimote and nunchuk to knock monsters off Harry. Then you keep running until you can explore again. Then you run again. You keep repeating that pattern until the game ends.
Hey, at least there's no crappy combat (there's not any combat at all)! Also, the puzzles are so simplistic that a kid in the second grade could figure them out. They mostly consist of holding down the A button on the Wiimote while twisting it around in a circle and trying not to break your wrist.
Still, fans of Silent Hill will find something to like in Shattered Memories, even if it is only the story. I would suggest sticking with the game just to see the twist. Or just go watch it on YouTube. Whatever.

Here's the ending for those of you who don't want to put up with the controls or are just lazy:
