English Language Shin Megami Tensei IV Trailer Is All About Samurais

The latest trailer for the upcoming 3DS exclusive Shin Megami Tensei IV is in English, and gives you a good taste of what the voice acting will sound like.

The trailer also offers a hefty dose of gameplay, and reveals that the lead character is really excited about becoming a Samurai. Here's a direct quote from the trailer:

"Those who pass the rite and become Samurai must live in Mikado Castle. I will become a samurai. I'm definitely going to be a samurai."

Shin Megami Tensei IV is coming to the Nintendo 3DS on July 16 in North America. For more on the game you can check out the official website, which launched recently.

  • Looks like this game is going to be great-JP reviews have been really positive, and these trailers definitely make the game look good. Glad I shifted me RE:R preorder to this. :P

  • Looks like they're going to pronounce Samurai in japan's native accent as best they can.

  • Samurai*...?

Looks pretty cool, don't think I've seen graphics that good on the 3ds
  • Samur-awesome.

  • It should be "samurai", just so you guys know. The plural of samurai is samurai.

  • I just wanted to point out that the plural of "samurai" is just samurai. I don't remember if the word is Japanese but there are no plural forms of nouns in the language, as far as I remember.

  • Looks cool, looking forward to this.

  • Looks great, love the music. Not fond of the way they pronounce samurai...
  • Samurai!

  • Wow. This game looks amazing. Just another legit game coming to 3DS!

  • Another wonderful trailer!

  • Well hopefully I can finish soul Hackers before this come out; because they both look awesome!

  • Soooooo.   I kinda get the feeling that this guy wants to be a Samurai.  I'm not 100% sure though.  I'll just call it a hunch.

  • Looks great and sounds good, but the way he pronounces samurai is a bit weird. Anyone else agree?

  • pre-ordered. cant wait!

  • "Sawmurai". "Mikadu". It's like he's trying for proper Japanese pronunciation but is still missing the mark. At least the graphics look great.

And, as others have said, the plural of "samurai" is "samurai". :)
