Revelations Demo

It may seem strange that I would be reviewing the game when I don't even have it yet, just the demo, but I can already tell this will be the best 3DS game ever. On my first play through I didn't mess around at all with switching controls or adjusting settings, I just played through, died a million times, eventually beat the demo, and was left with the biggest cliff hanger ending that made me bang my head and nearly smash my 3DS on the ground in frustration. The graphics were incredible, the game was scary and action-packed as I had hoped, and it just does the controls right. I later discovered all of the ways you can change the controls, which is my favorite feature. This is what the review is about from here on out. First, the default controls allow you to turn with left and right, move forward and backwards, think RE 4, and you hold R and press Y to shoot. Default controls have shooting in first person, and if you hold L while your gun is out you can move while still shooting.

Control List:

First Person or 3rd person to shoot, both are great. They have invert Y axis, invert X axis, or both. I recommend just invert Y. And then of course there are Gyro Controls, my favorite, motion sensing controls. You can move while using these. This is a perfect game, and hell mode is just hardcore and really makes you make every shot count.

  • I agree with you on most cases. I played the demo a couple of times(of course I also died the first couple of times..). For a demo it was better than i thought it was going to be. I really liked the changes they made from the RE Mercenaries Demo for RE:R.The controls were rather smooth and easy going(i reserved the game along with the Circle Pad Pro, and am for one eager to try it out with the extra circle pad).

The graphics also surprised me. For a handheld they were a lot better than i hoped. Plus the feature to enhance the 3D worked wonderfully. As for the controls, it took me a bit to get the hang of it since its been a while since I played a RE game, but once I got used to it, it felt rather natural.

  • I stopped reading after the first sentence. I simply can't take a review like this seriously if you haven't even bothered to play the full game.
  • Demoes aren't a representation of the final quality of the game. They say so themselves.

  • really good review congrats!!

  • I hope this gets a port on the Vita, this needs to come to all handhelds ... More RE 3DS please.
