Concept: a really fun quest guaranteed to provide mega-satisfaction.

Graphics: Awesome. Everything moves at a pretty impressive frame rate too.

Sound: From gunshots to music, it sounds great.

Playability: Great, the controller is perfectly done.(Especially for the awesome boots that let you move fast)

Entertainment: pretty large. The plot is great with Dr. Nefarious and the other plot that i will not reveall due to spoilers. there are a lot of other plots along the way. Also, the ship play can be largely fun. Also, the upgrade system is a lot of fun but the armor, although looks fantastic,is not customizable.

Replay value. Moderatley high

The challenge ship like thing from Tools of destruction isnt great due to lack of levels.

Overall, this is one heck of a game that all ps3 third person fans should definitely grab off shelves.

I've had it since I got my PS3 slim (in August 2010) I still haven't gotte the RYNO V or all the Zoni or Gold Bolts. The weapons are great. No ammo on my chimp blaster? Great! The little videoes you watch when you buy the guns are hilarious! Everyone with a PS3 should have this game!

Awesome game

Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time is a awesome game, with unique weapons, levels and a great story. I was left a little dispointed by quest for booty, it just didn't feel as awesome as other Ratchet and Clanks. So I was hoping for more from a Crack in Time. There are some new elements to the game, but it always maintains the Ratchet and Clank feel. I enjoyed the Clank puzzles the most, they were like a simpler P.B Winterbottom. The weapons were cool the story was great, A Crack in time is a must buy!

better clank puzzles and 2 lombaxes

This Ratchet and Clank is one of my favorites with a return of my favorite villian in the series (Nefarious) and better Clank puzzles. This was a very exciting game, it also had another lombax other then ratchet (WOW!) I'll try not to spoil to much story but the twist boss at the end was not really that surprising but was still fun, a fantastic selection of new guns and good space combat that's too easy makes this a very good game to buy with replay value added to it. all in all this is definetely a buy for anyone who enjoys adventure or just a plain good game. Its safe for the kids to, even though it is rated i believe Teen.

Review - Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Unfortunately I actually haven't played many Ratchet and Clank games -
not because of any dislike toward the series but merely because I can't
get to every game out there. Luckily though, I did manage to get some
serious playtime with "A Crack in Time" and I must say I was definitely
pleasantly surprised.

As a direct sequel to "Tools of Destruction" (the first Ratchet and
Clank Future title released on the PS3) "A Crack in Time" once again
follows the titular characters' adventures through the galaxy. Since
Clank, a highly intelligent and cognitive little robot, was taken away
from his best friend Ratchet, a cat-like creature/mechanic called a
Lombax, at the end of the first title you'll actually be switching off
between the two at certain points during the game.

The game begins with Clank waking to the evil Dr. Nefarious ranting
about yet another plan for ridding the universe of non-robots. Things
humorously go awry and Clank eventually finds himself in the "Great
Clock" a gigantic time-keeping mechanism at the center of the universe.
Without divulging too much of the plot, the sections of the game played
as Clank consist of repairing the said clock through a plethora of
standard platforming moments and clever time-bending puzzles.

I believe rocket-launchers come standard in all Ratchet and Clank titles.

However, slightly more of the game will be spent playing as Ratchet as
he travels from planet to planet, desperately attempting to find his
missing robo-buddy (while also stumbling across Dr. Nefarious' plan and
a few other sub-plot points). This delightfully cartoony premise is
made further enjoyable by the variety of colorful worlds, arsenal of
ridiculous and awesome upgradeable weapons, and genuinely fun and
engaging platforming and shooting mechanics.

While Clank may spend his time repairing the Great Clock and solving
mind-prodding puzzles, Ratchet usually prefers the route of shooting
the snot out of enemy aliens with everything from standard blasters and
sniper-rifles to weapons that fire heat-seeking buzz-saws or open
inter-dimensional rifts (although standard, and fun, platforming
puzzles will dot this side of the journey as well).

As the title implies Clank can crack time to "record" multiple versions of himself.

Yes, "A Crack in Time's" control set-up is certainly more
platforming/action oriented, but where the title throws a wrench in the
genre standards is with a focus on solid shooting mechanics that are
definitely simple to pick up. Along with collecting and upgrading
various weapons and armor, Ratchet will also stumble across some unique
tools like the Hoverboots that add yet another layer of fun to
traversing the handful of worlds available.

As if that wasn't enough content, developer Insomniac Games has also
included a fairly fleshed out way of navigating from planet to planet
in the various star systems with Ratchet's space-ship Aphelion. The
really cool thing about this is that it adds a sand-box-ish side to the
game where players are able to take on side-missions and explore
smaller planets and moons for collectables and secret items.

I
also believe Aphelion is actually the only female character in the
game... well there are some Valkyries but once you see them you may
agree with me.

What truly raises fairly standard, though often clever, game-play
devices above similar platforming titles though is the downright
enchanting graphical and plot presentation. From the brilliantly bright
facial animations, to the variety of interesting landscapes, to each
character's quirky movements, Insomniac certainly proves its' art team
is more than capable. Animated faces and fluid character movement
wouldn't be much though without the truly spot-on hilarious writing and
voice-acting.

While you'll see plenty of familiar furry faces expect a few new ones as well.

Though it's apparent a lot of energy went in to making such a polished
title there are a few pieces that definitely fell in between the cracks
when they could've used a bit more time. While the music is more than
competent most of the time it can get repetitive and certain sound
effects are looped into annoyance. I also came across a few points
where a game-altering glitch or bug thrust me into hitting the start
button and forcefully exiting.

Minor bumps aside, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time is just about as smooth and delightful as platforming/action/adventure titles get.

The Final Verdict:

Pros:

Enjoyable, endearing, and hilarious plot and characters.

Colorful and crisp graphical presentation.

Clever and often unique puzzles.

Solid and fun platforming and shooting game-play.

Great voice work.

Awesome arsenal of upgradeable weapons (including a glove that
throws disco balls that make enemies dance uncontrollably... I mean
COME ON! AWESOME!)

Cons:

Some sound effects can get irritating.

While the music is great at times it can be bland at others.

No multi-player or extra content outside of a few play-throughs of the main campaign.

Expect a few bugs and glitches to throw Ratchet's wrench into the games gears.

The Score:

Presentation/Concept: 8/10
Music/Sound: 7/10
Graphics: 8/10
Value: 7/10
Game-play: 8/10

Overall: 8/10

Conclusion:
As far as I'm concerned Ratchet and Clank is one of, if not the, best
platforming series on the PS3 currently. While it may not quite be
Italian plumber caliber it certainly holds its own. I highly suggest
that anyone with a PS3 looking for a quirky, fun, classic game to play
pick up Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time.
It helps that little kids can safely play it. The controls are easy to pick up, (see above). The graphics are beautiful and the voice acting is top-notch. The story is pretty cool, (Ratchet and Clank are separated -gasp), although the length leaves a little to be desired unless you go for the surprise which is cool. Adult gamers can still have a ton of fun. It innovates a lot with the weapons. PS3 owners should get this game.

My usual Good vs. Bad review for Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!
My usual Good vs. Bad review (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! You have been warned)

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is an amazing game, and will definitely be a treat for those who have played previous Ratchet and Clank games. But what did I give this game and why? Check out my Good vs. Bad Review to find out!

The Good:
~ This beautiful cartoon like visuals. Shadows, shines, shades and textures all show up in the best way they possibly could.

~ Along with these said visuals are the animations, which are amazing and give the characters in the game a more lifelike (though the animations can also be quite cartoony, at least we weren't given characters with straight faces the whole way through).

~ The sound for the game is also great. From weapon sounds, to the games original music and sound effects, this game doesn't and hopefully won't disappoint.

~ The cartoon-like voice acting is (like every other Ratchet and Clank game) what makes up a majority of the games, without it the game wouldn't be as fun, and here is done with perfection.

~ There are many new things in Crack in Time such as being able to actually fly Ratchets ship through space instead of just teleporting to the next planet. While flying through space, there are also challenge planets (at least that's what I call them) that let you go through obstacles or kill a certain number of enemies for things you must collect for upgrades and extras.

~ The games story is (personally) the best in the series. It is full of twists that will bring the player many different emotions, but the one thing the Ratchet and Clank series has done well and continues to do is give the player a good laugh every now and again. This is personally one of the funniest games I have played.

The Bad:
~ The game was pretty easy, even on hard mode there wasn't much of a challenge, which is a bit disappointing...

Other than that, I would definitely recommend buying this if you have played any other Ratchet and Clanks and enjoyed them. If you haven't played Tools of Destruction, it's fine for the fact that in the beginning of this one, they sum up the whole entire story from it right in the beginning. If you are new to the series but interested in it, same applies but i would definitely recommend AT LEAST playing the first Ratchet and Clank. 9/10

This is one of the only games in its genre that keeps improving and never get dull. In this platformers you play as both Ratchet & Clank in two different storyline's. With abouth 15hrs of gameplay you can go flying through spach in ratchet spaceship or do the side missions that are set up for you or even land on a moon and take it over. Just kidding on the last part. But what you can do is limitless buy weapons and armor and update your wepons to lv 5 for more power. Try to find all the Gold blots to unlock playable skins and the Zoin to update you spaceship. Travel in time with the dynamic duo and save time with your new hover boots. Beat the game play threw the challenge mode and solve all of Clanks puzzles to make our daddy happy. But with this games nice storyline, unlockables, gameplay, graphics, & easy trophies its deserves all its points to a 9.75 rating. So pick it up sometime and play threw it. I promise you will love it. -- RUIAlKyder

In a world cluttered with gritty, overly macho, shooters, Insomniac has kept the colorful, and perhaps soulful, platformer going and A Crack In Time is nothing less than a triumph. The story has matured, the gameply razor sharp with near shining perfection, and the puzzles will leave your brain folding over itself to get the solution. The graphics are amazing and the sound is unbelievable. I agree that the space travel could be a little better, but otherwise it is a outstanding game.

Flower

Not sure what to buy on the ever growing Playstation Network. Well here is a must own title. It makes the top 5, if not the #1 title realesed as of yet. The simplistic game play makes it a fun adventure for all in the family. The graphics are a stunning visual masterpeice. The story all though simplistic in its own rights, is enthralling. There is a fantasia like magic in navagating glowing pedals through epic vistas.

The game not only keeps you visualy entertained, but it plays on your emotions like a cat and a fiddle. With bright and happy feilds to dark and forboarding piles of electrified metal. You wont wanna pu down the controller as you follow the hope of every flower on your window sill.

I give this game a 9.50 as it delivers on evrything you want in a game. Not to mention the new and inovative gameplay.

Funny as hell

Ratchet and Clank is a hilarious game , its long and well polished which makes it completely worth the money.
