The lights are on
In a video from Gamescom, the creative director of Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus shows off enemies, weapons, and puzzles in Insomniac's upcoming game.
The story continues with the arc established in the Future series. In the video below, Ratchet and Clank have stowed away on an enemy ship before they land on a haunted planet in search of an escaped convict.
Into the Nexus has a strong emphasis on controlling gravity with weapons and gadgets. In classic Insomniac style, wacky weapons are back to make shooting things interesting. Ratchet uses his Winterizer to turn enemies into snowmen and assault their ears with Christmas tunes.
To see the rest, take a look at the video below.
A Christmas gun. My dreams have finally come true!
After playing A Crack in Time, the excitement I have for this game is overwhelming.
Finally, I've been waiting for this, yay!
Come on new Ps4 Ratchet.
Looking pretty damn good.
This looks great. Love this series.
Okay, we got an amazing Sly Cooper sequel for PS3, and several inconsistent entries in Ratchet & Clank... Sony, you best have some studio working on a fifth Jak & Daxter game for PS4. If you don't announce something within the first year the PS4 is on the market, I'm gonna flip! Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier needs a sequel!
... or, at least, an HD port, considering you guys kicked it off the HD Collection along with Jak X and Daxter. Frickin' Ratchet Deadlocked got a separate HD port for PSN, Jak & Daxter 4 should've by now.
Seriously though; High Impact Games... what are they doing? Ready at Dawn is wasting time with The Order 1666, but don't they have 2 teams? Sanzaru did Secret Agent Clank, then moved onto Sly 4... they could probably take on another Sony platformer series and knock it out of the park. And Naughty Dog has never kicked it off the table; Uncharted and Last of Us just took priority this generation. SOMEONE needs to be working on Jak 5.
I hope they improve some of the more basic things, or at least change them up. Just small things, like physics or making the bodies stay when they're defeated or even mixing up the UI.
But all that aside, I'm still a huge fan of Ratchet and Clank and another entry is fine with me!
YES!!!! I've been a huge R&C fan since the very first game and own every single one of them on the PS3 (and PS2 for the PSP ports). This will be a day-1 buy and will keep me happy until a PS4 and PSVita R&C game surface.
I hope they do a collection edition of Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, Crack in Time, and Into the Nexus. Hopefully before the End of PS3 or around the Beginning of PS4
Finally, a Ratchet and Clank game I'm excited for!!
