Ragnarok Odyssey Ace Launches In April On Vita And PS3

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, the revised expanded version of the Vita action-RPG, arrives in the beginning of April.

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is an expansion of sorts for the original Ragnarok Odyssey that released near the launch of the Vita. It expands gameplay with more options in battle, increases the number of character customization options, adds new options and skills for every class, and a whole lot more. Perhaps the game's biggest expansion, however, is it's length. The end-point for the game's original release is now the game's mid-point after players unlock the massive Tower of Yggdrasil, which has 400 floors, each of which changes on every visit, effectively changing the back-half of the game into a roguelike.

If you have a save file for the original game, you can transfer your character into Ace. Since the game will allow you to share your save file between the Vita and PlayStation 3 version of the game, this means the character transfer will work for either game.

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace releases April 1 for $39.99 on PlayStation 3 and Vita. The digital Vita version will cost $34.99. For more on the game, you can check out our previous coverage, as well as the PlayStation Blog's recent post on the game.

  • Are you guys gonna actually review this, unlike the first version of Ragnarok Odyssey?
  • Mod
Not sure if they would localize it... ....or an April Fools joke.
  • The PS3 version looks alot better than the VITA version but I want the VITA version...

  • I must say the game for PS Vita are definitely coming out. I am glad to see more quality tiles coming out for the platform. This is for sure the year of the PS Vita, I am glad I own one!!!!!!!!!

  • Can anyone tell me what the gameplay of this is like, is it similar to Monster Hunter?

  • while I'm glad the game is getting a second chance to find an audience, I fail to see what about this ACE edition couldn't simply have been an update. Basically, they've added in everything that Dragon's Crown did, only they're charging you for it, as opposed to having had supported the original release.

Then again, maybe Dragon's Crown sold enough to warrant all the support, as opposed to a second try for a game that struggled to find an audience?

Honestly, I wish I knew the reasoning behind this.

  • Down in Fraggle Rock *clap clap*....idk

  • Looks pretty cool, I won't be playing it but I like the look of it.

  • April 1? but in amazon and GS site it says March 11th.

  • 400 floors? That's it? Dragon Crown's December update added a new randomly generated dungeon with over 50,000 floors.

    This does look interesting, however.

  • Looks neat. I'll probably pick it up. Is it anything like Monster Hunter? I love me some Monster Hunter.

  • Nice.
