Update: We've embedded the trailer from the PlayStation Blog story.

Realism certainly has its place in the gaming ecosystem, but when an aesthetic style like the one in Sony Japan Studio's Puppeteer comes along, it's hard not to take notice. We’ve got two new screenshots and the box art for the title, which will be released on September 10, 2013.

The images feature two of the four hero heads at players’ disposal. Yes, you read that correctly. Heads. The title stars a boy named Kutaro, who finds himself kidnapped by the evil Moon Bear King (not to be confused with ManBearPig), transformed into a puppet, and separated from his cranium. Oh, and his head is eaten by the nefarious ruler.

In addition to his magical scissors, he’ll be able to call upon the shield-bearing Moon Knight (no relation to the Marvel character) and bomb-tossing Moon Ninja, each offering up special skills, terrain-altering abilities, and access to hidden bonus stages. If all of that sounds like something you’re interested in, you’ll also be happy to learn that the title comes with a budget price tag ($39.99).
