The lights are on
In this morning's Nintendo Direct, Game Freak and the Pokémon Company revealed something special for long-time fans of the series. In addition to the starters for X and Y (Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie), Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur will be on hand.
More importantly, they'll be getting mega evolutions. We've got more on mega evolutions, our PAX 2013 experiences, and the upcoming Pokémon Bank online service. You can see more on the mega evolutions of the three original starters in the Nintendo Direct.

Only one of these three doesn't look completely ridiculous.
I will give you a hint, It is green/blue and has a massive flower on its back.
Lol...Blastoise looks weird.
But the others actually look badass. Especially Charizard
So venusaur gets a.....flower.. well I'm keeping mine a bulba bulbasaur! Plus my kids just love bulbasaur. Man my Ampharous is going to rip apart all these charizards ;)
Although I like the regular Charizard more, but the mega evolution looks really cool too.
Charizard looks ok until you look at his arms... What exactly is the point of those things on his arms. Are they little wings? Hard skin things? Whatever they are, they look completely unnecessary and it looks like they were just looking for something to tack on.
They look like s**t -.-
So they're just called "Mega" instead of having a entirely different name?
Seems like they're nicking the Digimon naming system :P
prob will get a 3ds for this, haven't played a good pokemon game since gold
Mega Charizard > Mega Blaziken? anyone?
Dang it Nintendo! Quit messing with my childhood...is nothing sacred anymore?!?!?!
