Relive The Titular Defense Attorney's Beginnings This Winter

Capcom has announced the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will launch in North America on 3DS this winter. This is more than just a re-release, as it will come complete with redrawn graphics and 3D visuals.

The set, which has been available in Japan for some time and oft-requested for localization, contains the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice For All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations and includes the option to play the Japanese version of the game.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will be available for download on the eShop for $29.99. Check out our screens of the collection in our image gallery below.

The title will be available at E3 in Capcom's booth. For more of what the publisher is bringing, check out our coverage from earlier today.

  • I never tried a game from the series so maybe this is my chance to try it out and in a trilogy all together too.
  • FINALLY!!!! :D

  • Capcom clearly does not think highly of this series. Dual Destinies was meh in comparison to the first three games, and hell even Apollo Justice, and now this...The update visual don't look great, as the areas and characters don't have art styles that match, unlike in the original versions, in that the way the character sprites looked help match the overall tone. Here...the characters feel like high class watercolors against a painting, and the characters have FREAKING BLACK OUTLINES! It just looks so bad. Oh, and need I mention of the fact that it's NOT A CARTRIDGE AGAIN? Good lord Capcom. Figure out what to do with this series already. Here's to hoping that Dai Gyakuten Saiban is better.
  • oh hell ya cant wait!
  • I'm psyched for this, and this is definitely a day one buy for me.

  • The graphics look very similar to the iOS Ace Attorney trilogy. The only difference I see is that it will be made into 3D. Nevertheless, Ace Attorney games are welcome in my library.

  • I've played Layton and the 999 game but never this. I am looking forward to it.

  • I'm going to need this. If it has a physical form.

  • I'm so excited! Even though I played all three games already, I'm going to get this as soon as it comes out. (I hope this means they know there's enough interest in the series to localize Gyakuten Kenji 2 and Dai Gyakuten Saiban...)

  • Sweet Moses, I'm excited. I only finished the first game, but never had a chance to finish the others.

  • What Nintendo is doing here with the remastered version for the handheld is the same approach they need to implement this idea for the Wii U console and pull from there vast array of there catalog of games from various consoles from Nintendo.
  • Isn't this just a port of the iOS game?
  • WHAT!?!? I am so psyched for this!!! I've always wanted to play these games but I have never had to chance to before!

  • Yesssss this looks fantastic. Man, Capcom decided to mame my day today.

  • This is what I was waiting for. So glad I did. Can't wait.

  • Nice, I've been wanting to check this series out.

This looks like a good starting point.

  • I played Dual Destinies and barely got through it because I don't do well with downloadable games. I forget about them all the time, practically have to make myself play them because they're intangible. With that in mind, and the fact that I'm not getting a cool new box with this, I'm gonna pass on it. I already got the original 3 in retail form anyway. I don't need an inferior port clogging my 3DS memory.

If it were at retail, I'd get it. No question. But download? I'll just wait until you put another Ace Attorney game out at retail, if that ever happens again.

  • I know that as a visual novel, there's supposed to be zero replay value after you finish the story and know all of the twists, but these games are astonishingly good.

I haven't played them in quite some time so I may double dip this Winter provided my wallet's up to the task.

  • Been wanting to play these games again, ever since I beat Dual Destinies. This seems like the perfect way to revisit them.

  • Already played through every single title, even the spinoffs, on the DS. I'll be picking this up and replay it again since it's been a while. I hope the first Ace Attorney comes with the bonus fifth case too.
