Players in the PC beta for Blizzard's upcoming Overwatch can expect to get their hands on the revamped title today. After a lengthy hiatus for balance fixing, the second closed test period introduces a new game mode and a long-awaited progression system.

After several attempts to get the system right in internal builds, the third time's a charm as the new system will be available today. Instead of giving each character their own level up system to unlock cosmetic rewards (there's no actual gameplay progression like talents or stats), players will advance through unlimited levels in an account level experience system from match to match. Every time a player levels up, they'll receive a crate with four different goodies ranging in rarity, with everything from skins to spraypaints to custom play-of-the-game emotes. There's a ton of unique things to collect.

Finding your inventory dripping with duplicates and still haven't pulled that epic Tracer skin you've always wanted to time travel with? No problem. You can crunch your dupes down for currency and get whatever item you desire from the catalog.

Prior versions of this system unlocked things at the character level, but Blizzard found this system encouraged players to keep playing the same character over and over to unlock things, which led to refusal to pick counters or needed roles to win matches. Check out some of the cool things you can unlock below!
