The lights are on
The game does exactly what it is supposed to do, that is, the same thing it has been doing since 1984 or whenever. I don't think that this is a bad thing but Mario doesn't need a change of what it does; more that it needs a different art style from time to time. The thing that made the NES and Super NES games exciting was that each looked different if not better from the previous one. The 2D 3D thing has been done now and I think it is time for another makeover. A new hand drawn HD title would be fantastic. I know this takes more time than updating 3D models but it makes the developers seem less lazy.
