NCAA 12's Road To Glory Starts Here

Road to Glory mode has been ill-served in the past few years, but EA Tiburon is focusing its attention on the mode for NCAA 12 with some structural changes.

The feature is being helmed by ex-Auburn running back Alex Howell, who wants to bolster the experience through three main new features: expanding the high school segment of the mode, Coach's Trust, and the upgrade store.

Players start Road to Glory mode playing through a full high school senior season. You can even edit your schedule and import teams from Team Builder to replicate your real school's actual schedule. The better you do, the more recruiting points you earn. During your senior season you'll  be actively recruited by schools of varying prestige and location, and you can even be recruited on both sides of the ball since you can play both offensive and defensive positions during your high school season. Based on your performances each week, you accrue recruiting points that go toward earning you a scholarship at the three schools you put on your short list before the season starts. If you're putting up impressive numbers, more schools may approach you about scholarships as well. You can also walk on elsewhere if you like.

Once you get to college, you have to work your way up the depth chart by earning Coach's Trust points. If you're not a starter, these are earned by excelling in the newly formatted practices, which now boast 25 reps in a single session. You may also have an opportunity to earn points as a backup if you see the field via an injury or during mop-up time. When you pull even with the player on the next rung of the depth chart, you'll have to compete against them for the spot in a glorified practice session called a Position Battle.

  • Looks good but I'll most likely focus on Dynasty more.

  • Double True

  • They better get it right for Texas A&M in this year. seeing they are #9 in the game this year hopefully they will. Only Yell Leaders, Reveille, The REAL Cannon a M1902 Field Cannon unlike that pus cannon at UT and Saw Em Off. I've been so deeply disappointed each year cuz they can't get it right
  • Glad to see that they're making the game deeper

  • Is it just me? The football is about 25% too big, and the screenies look cartoonish. Otherwise, it does sound like they're improving Road to Glory mode, so good for them. That said, I won't be buying another NCAA game until they make major changes to the core gameplay. I've had my fill of playing with a five star powerhouse and having my season ruined by losing to a Div II school via miraculous 2nd half comeback. Come on EA, get rid of "computer cheat mode". If I'm beating a low-caliber CPU team 35-0 (as I should be) let me go ahead and beat it 70-3 (as I should).
  • i love this mode i always make a guy and get him through ohio state before starting my dynasty but it would be nice if madden put some effort into there superstar mode so that im not just wasting my time with this mode anyways buckeyes all the way miss you tressel

  • How about adding to the realism by dealing with players that break NCAA rules off the field.  Then you get to take care of them. Maybe even an Athletic Director mode to hire and fire coaches.

  • i hope the road to glory is better than 11.

  • Boise State FTW......Winterswyk FTW. Too bad he didn't get drafted and theirs a lockout too.

  • go kentucky wildcats!
