The lights are on
At a recent visit to the Game Informer offices, Visual Concepts spilled the beans about everything NBA 2K13 has to offer, including My Player, Association, online plans, and a few new surprises. We’ll touch on all of this at later dates, but first and foremost we’re sharing details on our hands-on gameplay session.
NBA 2K13 is building off a solid gameplay foundation, but that isn’t preventing Visual Concepts from shaking things up. Here are 25 things we learned during our meeting:

BETTER WITH KINECT?

Glad to hear actual gameplay news instead of who's producing the music. Hopefully the passing is as good as they say it is, because 2k12 had the worst passing in a basketball game. Hopefully the physics system works well too because I'm tired of power forwards and centers not being able to score on smaller defenders whenever they bump into each other. I always hated those pre determined outcomes of missing a layup because there was a little contact. The models of Griffin, KD and Rose look really polished and much better than 2k12's models of them so hopefully the graphics will be much better, and the shot stick making moves in the post much more easier to execute.
On a side note, I really hope EA releases at least something about Live 13. For the love of God at least something. I really want them to release because even if it's just an average game they'll have something to build on and I just don't want to be stuck with one bball game. Get your s.hit together EA. You can make FIFA, Madden, Fight Night and NHL but can't get the NBA right?
If everything works like you've described here, the game should be amazing. Pretty much every problem I have with gameplay seems to be fixed and improved. I'm not sure about messing with the shot stick and dribble moves though, that'll take some time getting used to.
I never really used the shotstick, I mostly stuck with pressing "Square." Dribbling on the other hand I could find useful.
Sweet i'm excited!
If they fix the passing and all the weird bugs, then this will be amazing. Still worried about the control stick.
Finally gameplay information.... and once again 2k games keeps making its franchise game better unlike EA.
I love the series. I wonder what new modes will be introduced this year. I always wanted them to put a FIBA like mode in the game like NBA LIve did years ago. It would be great to match up the 92 Dream Team with the Current team USA and/or play other countries.
Sounds great as long as there's no magnetic field down in the post when trying to run plays. If swearing while using a Kinect gets you a technical foul, what about not using one? How do players get technical fouls without a Kinect?
I haven't played a basketball game in a long time (Hang Time on N64). I may get this for the chance to play as some modern players.
Can't wait for this...love how u can get a technical for swearing, mommas gonna be proud of this game.
Sounding good as usual. NBA 2K = King of sports games.
Everything in this article looks great. Can't wait for them to release a demo and try it out myself.
Here's #26 thing you can know about this game. I'm not buying it. (Bought last 2 of the series, not interested this year)
See that's all devs have figured Kinect is good for. Voice commands.
Did I just read something about technical fouls? I wish I had a Kinect now, I get foul-mouthed when I play NBA 2K.
