During this week’s Kombat Kast, NetherRealm Studios revealed that Brutality finishing moves are returning. Mortal Kombat X will feature over 100 of the explosive finishers according to NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon.

Unlike Fatalities, these are activated by accomplishing certain things in the match. Characters have multiple Brutalities, and they happen much more quickly than the dramatic Fatalities.

We saw three during the stream, including Scorpion slicing the arms off Ermac, Ermac exploding Scorpion at the mid-section, and finally, Scorpion obliterating Ermac with a bloody uppercut. No new characters were revealed, but the team says we’ll have a roster update very soon.

Before closing, NetherRealm showed off the introduction to a mirror match. Each pairing has different dialog that acknowledges the relationship between characters. When each player chooses the same character, this too is acknowledged with the characters quipping about facing themselves.

Mortal Kombat X will be out on April 14 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.
