Fight Legions of Monsters For Free Across Multiple Platforms

Nom Nom Games, a subsidiary of Dungeon Defenders developer Trendy Entertainment, has announced its upcoming free browser-based game Monster Madness Online. The game uses new technology that allows it to work in any browser regardless of operating system and without the need for downloaded plugins. As a result, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone users can all play in the same servers.

In Monster Madness Online, Martians abduct all of the adults in Suburbia City, forcing four high-school students to team up to rid their town of the army of monsters sent to finish off the remaining humans.

The game is described as a free-to-play multiplayer action shooter role-playing game (FTPMASRPG). Players must work together to fight over 70 types of monsters in the campaign and survival modes. In addition, there is competitive PvP that allows up to 16 players to participate in multiplayer modes like deathmatch and capture-the-flag.

Players can also level up, learn new abilities, collect randomized loot, and even train pets to help them fight off the monster horde. The game supports Steam trading and Workshop.

The full version of Monster Madness Online will release in May, 2014, but the pre-alpha version that only includes a CTF mode is available to test right now on the game's website. If you're interested in free-to-play multiplayer games, check out GI's preview for Dungeon Defenders II.
