What's Happening

MLB 2K10. More like, MLB 2KSuck!

Awkward menus and ugly visuals lead to a very mediocre presentation. With sports, looks are almost as important as the gameplay nowadays.

As for gameplay, it's not great either. I'm finally resting from my stint with the 2K10 million dollar challenge. From buying this and BC2 at a midnight release, I've spent more than enough hours to get a grasp on the gameplay, and I had both fun and incredibly frustrating moments.

I've never played 2K9, so I'm not sure if the realistic pitching/hitting controls were present, but I like this new approach for a baseball game. It simply makes sense. Although, if you're boasting realism on your game, make sure the controls are responsive. For curveballs, or any pitch that required a semi-half circle input on the right thumbstick, 2K10 routinely failed to recognize my actual input. Causing wild pitches or hits.

However, when it does recognize input correctly, it's a satisfying experience. It's more immersive.

Oh, and bugs. They are still rampant, even 2K's forums are already posting videos with these buggy glitches. Teleportation is cool, but not when an outfielder seemingly teleports to catch your flyball for an out. It's rare, and during my crazy long gameplay session, I only noticed one issue with an outfielder seemingly running faster than he should have.

6. Decent. Fun can be had, but I'd invest your $60 into a PS3 savings account and save up for The Show. If it weren't for that contest, I would have invested in The Show.

  • How can you give a review based on X amount of hours. It takes days to fully grasp and see everything there is to be seen.

Also, about the pitching, its your gesture thats the problem. I never had a problem throwing a wild pitch when i did the correct motion. And since you admitted to not playing 2k9 you have no idea how the pitching really works.

    Gameplay is 2ks strongest asset.

This is an unfair review and most likely biased since you mentioned the show. You only bought the game for the contest.
