Troy Baker And Nolan North Lead The Cast

This morning, we shared with you new hands-on impressions of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. WB has also delivered some information about the voice cast, scribe, and composer that will be bringing the project to life.

Troy Baker (The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite) will step into the protagonist’s role once again as Talion. He’s joined by Nolan North (Uncharted, Deadpool), Alastair Duncan (Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), Laura Bailey (Mass Effect 3, Halo 4), and Liam O’Brien (Final Fantasy XIII-2, Titanfall).

The soundtrack is being composed by Gary Schyman, who scored all three BioShock titles, the Destroy all Humans games, and more. The original story, which takes place between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, is being written by Red Dead Redemption scribe Christian Cantamessa.

  • Well that's quite the cast they have. This game just keeps looking better and better.

  • Nothing but talent here. The story must be good if written by one of the guys who wrote RDR.

  • Damn, that's a hell of a cast they have.

  • A ton of amazing voice actors? I'm definitely game! Troy Baker has certainly made a name for himself. And to think I was introduced to him when he played my most hated character in Final Fantasy XIII. Between Joel and all of his major roles he has gotten recently Troy has become an iconic and well respected figure in the VA community. I certainly don't mind him being in every big game release. And Laura Bailey has been in a lot recently too but she is awesome as well. Easily one of my favorite voice actresses. Her range is great like how she can play adorable little girls as well as tough femme fatales just to name a couple. When she appeared in the recent Wolf Among Us episode I knew it was her right away. I didn't expect someone like her to appear in TWAU since Telltale tends to use a small circle of voice actors. I guess that just shows that they are growing. Also Liam and Nolan are both very enjoyable and have played some interesting and iconic roles. This casting choice certainly makes me more interested in Shadow of Mordor.
  • This game is poised for success. Great voice acting cast, great writer, great composer and all the game play looks awesome. Whether you think they "stole" ideas or not it's hard to hate a game with an Arkham combat system and free roaming/climbing of an Assassins Creed game, set in an awesome universe like Lord of The Rings. Can't wait.
  • I'm so excited for this game, but if it does end up failing, it definitely won't be because of the voice acting. I prefer Troy over Nolan, but to see them both in the same game is gonna be amazing.

  • I love Nolan North. Now all they need is Jennifer Hale.

  • Wow, that's quite the cast!

  • Sounds like a good crew to me.

  • *** yeah!

  • OH CRAP!!! SARAH!!!

  • As much as I love Troy and Nolan, and they are very talented voice actors, I would really enjoy seeing some fresh blood in games. But I do agree that this is a great cast.
  • Video game all stars?

  • Are there really no other voice actors to hire out there? I find that hard to believe.
  • Impressive cast. Won't have to worry about the voice acting in this one. This game keeps sounding better and better.

  • Of all the games Nolan North has been a voice actor for, you had to go with Deadpool? I don't know why, but that made me chuckle.
  • Oh corse they are in it, they are the voices of everything. The other actors are just Troy and North under different names so they can get multiple pay checks.

  • I'm burnt out on them, especially Nolan since he barely changes.

  • Same reused voice actors once again, and again, and again. They are good and all, but would be nice to give some other actors a chance, god forbid to get some new talent, and voices in these games. Tired of instantly being able to pick out which actor does what since they sound the same in almost every game they do.

  • Troy Baker AND Nolan North, yes please!! What a sick trailer this games looks so next-gen it's awesome. Now............Do I play Inquisition or Mordor first? I'm buying both and Alien all at the same time just because the thought of not having each of them bothers my soul.
