A Great Atmosphere with One Kink
on May 19, 2013 at 03:06 PM
Metro 2033 has a great atmosphere and can give a player the chills, the creeps, or the laughs, mattering on what you are listening in on or taking part in. The story is very fun to play though. I have not read the novel, but I have tried to get it ever since playing this game. The story is very engaging...
Not your average shooter.

I bought this game soon after it came out (do not ask why I am finally doing a review now) and I was sucked into it instantly. The story is one of the best to appear in a FPS in a long time and this helps make you care for the characters as well. The story is the biggest aspect of the game that made...
A straightforward, but innovative journey.

Amidst the high-profile games with loads of game modes and heavy marketing material, a unique game will occasionally come along and show surprising skill and polish only found by those willing to look. I started off relatively interested in Metro 2033, even before I began playing. I read reviews detailing...
Gotta play it to judge it...

The game was better than I expected and had a lot of play time too. One of the scariest games I have played in a while too. I loved the save points too. Never to far back to start all over but enough back to get achievements. Only downside is chrging your flashlight and hearing Artyom breathe in a gas...

Weep for what could have been. This game had so much promise, but, as you have already guessed, it failed to live up to it. Some game mechanics, such as charging your flashlight, pumping your pneumatic sniper rifle, shooting in a straight line, and walking, work perfectly fine, and add a bit of micromanagement...
THis game is completely awful. You have all lost it.

When I first heard about Metro 2033, I was extremely exited. I had been waiting for my post apocalyptic dreamland, and this seemed to be it. Too bad the game sucks. It is full of glitches, the graphics are god awful(that is a little harsh, they are only bad if you've been playing games such as Assassin's...
Breath taking, jaw dropping, nerve racking and yet just AWESOME--Metro 2033
on May 02, 2010 at 10:32 PM
So here we are with metro 2033 amazing story line- yet not for the younger generation. On your first mission you will be breathless and then the in game reality sets in...This is no play ground, this is a dangerouse world. You will go from one station from another in the tunnels looking over your sholder...
Not what I had expected.

The Stalker series, has become one of my all time favorite videogame series ever. The gritty feel to it, is reminiscent of fallout 3, but ironically enough, feels like it takes place farther in the future, mainly due to the weapons. When I heard that Metro was a new game made by some of the Stalker visionaries...
Definatly a sleeper hit
on March 26, 2010 at 06:00 AM
Although i rented this game i played through it twice. I thought that the game is a sleeper hit but it was great. The horror was kept to a minimum but there were creepy parts too. Like Infinity Ward, they also kill off their characters in shocking moments. Butt he plot was awesome as were the characters...
Not a review, a comment

This is a comment not a review because I have not played Metro yet but I was looking forward to it. I first heard about the game in a GI Issue 200- something and I am surprised it is out already.

Metro 2033 Review
on March 17, 2010 at 01:24 PM
If your into playing strickly multiplayer with big guns and easy objectives, this game is certainly not for you. If not, your place in the Moscow underground is already awaiting you. This game is built largely off the book Metro 2033. With that background, the game is linear (which means that this isn't...

this looks great. if i ever get arround going to gamestop this might be a game i would get. though i am scared that it is from some ukranian developer.

This game is worth it, so much fun enjoyable and great story pushing the game along. Then again, that comes from actually sticking with the book it's based off of.

This game looks like a thrill ride, worth a rent
