The lights are on
Mass Effect 3 is a landmark for the series as it ends the epic journey of Commander Shepard. While there are a few annoyances, that doesn't stop Mass Effect 3 from being one of the greatest and darkest stories in the medium. The combat this time around delivers in spades. It alone can encourage multiple playthroughs. The choices you made from the previous entries will have consequences that will affect the game greatly. These decisions and characters shape the game's outcomes into an ending that sparked plenty of controversy. What I loved most is how it all comes full circle. The dark tone is never abandoned, and we see the fate of many characters wrapped up in the end. Although there are sidequests to distract you, they aren't a batch of fun, as it feels more fetch rather than looking for war assets. That being said, there are also a few minor technical and graphical bugs, but nothing that breaks the experience. In the end, I'm going to have a hard time saying goodbye to the universe and characters, but it's been utter bliss.
