Check Out 10 Minutes Of Lost Planet 3 Gameplay With Developer Commentary

Lost Planet 3 isn't due until next year, but that isn't stopping Capcom from showing off a huge chunk of the game.

The ten minute video shows off a number of aspects of Lost Planet 3, some familiar, some new to the series, and even takes a look at some of the characters and story. You can check out the video video below.

  • While I've never found Lost Planet to be that great, co-op aside, I'll definitely be picking this up.
  • Ehh... Well, as much of a fan I was of LP2, seeing this, I'm having second thoughts about my excitement. I know LP2 had it's problems. But I really did enjoy practically everything about it. Now what I'm seeing here is a linear scripted campaign. The Akrid look good tho. But I have my doubts.

Sorry for the bad sentence structuring there, kind of tired after my shift.
  • Well this game looks... different... from the first two. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing though. Hm.

  • The only thing I don't like is the western style mech and the first person Punch Out-inspired combat. The mechs were the best part of the old Lost Planet games. Did not need changing. The rest of this is clearly an improvement over Lost Planet's terrible, generic, unrealistic characters and horrid, un-precise action. Crossing my fingers everything turns out aces in the end. Spark Unlimited doesn't really have a track record that inspires confidence. But this is looking good.

  • When I found out they were changing the series again I was somewhat sceptical about what direction they would take the franchise in, but this video shows off some pretty fun looking gameplay and intriguing story. The only thing that kind of bugs me is the forced first person perspective for the Battle-Suit, but in the end even that looked fun.

  • Some of the best stylized character animation I've ever seen. This game just keeps impressing me, even though I found the original Lost Planet games unappealing.

  • Quick time events were not needed at all.

  • Oh boy, what have they done I think Lost Planet is getting the RE treatment.

  • "So as we can see, there's something not quite right about the Situation, but Jims' gotta focus on his Mission. He's now pulled the leaver that's going to put the Communication Station back into Operation....." That just cracked me up so bad lol "He puts the Communication Station back into Operation!"

P.S Jim looks like a wanna-be Nicolas Cage lol
  • This looks way better than anything Spark has made in the past, I wonder who they hired for this sudden bump in quality, also the lip syncing was really good, i'll be keeping my eye on this in the coming months.

  • This looks nothing like the first 2. What the hell happened? I don't even know what game this is anymore.

  • Still looks like LP to me. That's always good.

  • I don't like to hate on games unless its something stupid like fable journey, but I'm disappointed, I really liked LP 1 and 2 but this game looks generic.

  • Seems like I am the only one excited for the game... After playing the demo for this game a couple of months ago, the game was pretty fun to play. I recommend at least giving the game a chance... And see the reviews for the game to decide for yourself.
  • Freakin awesome.

  • Wow, other than the blood effects coming out of the enemies (excluding the splatter that gets on the window of the mech), I think this is looking really pretty good! I wasn't a big fan of the original when I got it and played it on 360 around its release; the only thing I thought was somewhat special about it was that it looked great and it had big bosses; not entirely original, but it was still a pro to the game. I wasn't all that interested in the sequel, so I never played that. To the point; I think the gameplay is looking fun, the story seems like it's going somewhere in this and the sound work is surprisingly fantastic. It does look like Dead Space 3 though... Or is it the other way around? That doesn't matter, what matters is that I may now start to follow this game.
  • i forgot there even was a second one
