What's Happening

Best. Platformer. Ever.

I got the first LittleBigPlanet one year for Christmas and I didn't think I would like it too much. I was 100% wrong. I fell in love with the first game, and I decided to go out and buy the second, and it was even better, unsurprisingly.

As usual, the game follows the main character, Sackboy, which for lack of a better term, a brown sack with buttons as eyes and a giant zipper on his chest. How can you watch this character die when you fail a level? It's legit the saddest moment you can witness.

Anyways, throughout the Story, you meet new characters in different locations around the unnamed planet, which I assume would be called the LittleBigPlanet. You play through many whimsical and challenging levels which are required to pass to move on to the next level, and soon enough, the next world.

LittleBigPlanet 2's Story is very different, and the game does have some new features, including Sackbots, which are Sackboy look alikes that are required for you to control to pass some of the levels. I'd have to admit, they are one cool new addition.

As you progress through the Story, you will collect Prize Bubbles, which contain anything from stickers, decorations, and items for your Sackboy, used to customize him.

Speaking of customization, that's what LittleBigPlanet 2 is all about. I always love decorating my Sackperson (although that sounds very weird) to my liking. This is quite simple and easy to do, with the hundreds of unlockable items, and you can even use the items unlocked in the first LittleBigPlanet.

Level building is also back, with more ways to make an epic level.

With thousands of objects to use, you can make anything from the inside of a volcano to a journey down Mount Everest. But the sad part is, it's still rather difficult to make a legitimate level. It's strongly encouraged to watch the tutorials before designing, because if you don't, you will fail.

The best part of the game is back. The amazing online feature. I always enjoy going online and playing levels that random people have created. Some are crazy, scary, and even unbelievably amazing due to the creation.

It's also nice to write a small review and rate the levels.

Speaking of levels, LittleBigPlanet 2 has new Versus levels, which are pretty much mini-games. I've seen anything from Rock 'Em Sockem, and games similar to tic-tac-toe. All of these have to be done with a buddy. I do enjoy occasionally playing these.

Speaking of buddies, LittleBigPlanet 2 is the best when you're playing with one. It's one of the best co-op games I've ever played. It's always cool to have a friend hanging out in your Pod, and exploring community levels, while you smack each other with handheld frying pans.

Overall, LittleBigPlanet 2 is an amazing, near perfect game, and it's the best platformer to exist. Even better than Super Mario Brothers 3. It's so good, the game has almost no negatives to discuss.
