I wonder what Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien, would think of the Lego video game adaptation of his classic books.

Would he accept them for the fun, lighthearted spoofs they are meant to be? Or would he respond more like an Alan Moore, and write it off entirely? I would like to think he would fall in the former camp rather than the latter.

Lego Lord of the Rings is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Playstation Vita and Nintendo Wii in October.

Not sure about the voice's. I couldn't get used to them on Batman Lego 2. But I digress.... Bring on the ring!

Cant wait to buy this when it goes on sale, I refuse to buy any lego game at full price. They just don't offer the 60 or 50 dollar worth of content I believe they should, but at 30 I'm willing to throw my money straight at them. I think Todd Howard had it right when he said that not all games should be priced at 60 dollars. Not all of them are equal and most aren't even worth 30.

Ya I never played the other lego games before. But I will check this one out for sure. One its lord of the rings and two that trailer was pretty awesome.

i think Tolkien would be depressed with the fact that his legacy is being destroyed by a lego video game, way to take the seriousness out of middle earth.

Well considering the he published the Hobbit as a childrens book, I think ole J.R.R would be tickled to see his characters being so well liked and would probably challenge C.S. Lewis to a co-op game!
