This wouldn't be a Lego game without some serious building. That also pertains to your vehicles in Lego Dimensions. Every model can be built into three different versions.

As noted in our recent hands-on preview, from the DeLorean to the Batmobile, you can transform all the iconic vehicles into different forms by rebuilding them.

The picture below gives you a glimpse into this; the Cyber-Guard can turn from a towering man of machinery to a destructor on all fours to a blinding laser walker .

During Lego Dimensions, you'll need to rebuild the Batmobile at certain points to advance in the plot. While the other vehicles aren't required to complete the main story, the developers are adding extra little activities to levels to make use of the additional content you purchase. So far, Traveller's Tales only showed us an extra digging spot with Scooby, but it confirmed extra areas in levels would be available. More importantly, you can rock any form of transportation in any level. That means you can drive the DeLorean along the yellow brick road if you wish.

The game has instructions to help you build the other forms outside of the game. Once you complete the rebuild, you just put them on the Lego Gateway, which transports them right into Lego Dimensions.

See more about the process yourself in the trailer below.
