The lights are on
It's hard to believe that L.A. Noire is almost here. It's been over a year since we brought you the first details on the game in our cover story, and the hype has been steadily building ever since.
Even though the game is from Rockstar, don't expect L.A. Noire to play like a 1940's era Grand Theft Auto. Instead, players will be participating in methodical police work, interviewing suspects and scouring crime scenes for clues. Interrogations are made much easier thanks to the game's impressive facial-capture technology. As you can see in the trailer below, actors' performances were captured in stunning detail, allowing players to intuitively tell when the people they're talking to in the game aren't being completely honest.
The game is being released May 17 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

playing some max payne to get me into that "noir" mood.
I've been waiting for this game ever since I first read that cover story. Can't freaking wait.
Want want want wa-HHHNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG....
This is gonna be a great year for gaming.
Thinking about what next gen's systems with this tech will look like sends my imagination reeling.
I'm counting down the days. I can't wait for this. 5 more days to go!
OMFG. soooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!
I hope I can spend the entire day playing on the 17th.
I can't wait!
I've been excited for a lot of games over the past 2 years, especially ones for established IP that I have enjoyed previous games, but this is by and far my personal most anticipated new IP in more years than I can count. I've always been a huge fan of detective procedural in both written and TV format, and a chance to play a true detective type, like Goran from Law and Order: Criminal Intent, or Rex Stout as a more period type comparison...just plain gold in my book.
this is one of those games that really embarrasses the film industry by doing what they do, but much, much better.
I sure hope it's as good as it seems. Guess I'll find out next week.
