The lights are on
L.A. Noire is one of the most anticipated games of 2011, thanks in no
small part to the amazing facial animation capture technology that was
created for the the by developer Team Bondi and its sister company Depth
Analysis. Now, Rockstar has released this new video, which goes into
greater detail on how the process works. It's pretty cool, and
is helping L.A. Noire create some of the most believable video game
characters to date. For more on the process, read our cover story on
Email the author Matt Helgeson, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
As I said before, this technology doesn't hand a candle to others like Image Metrics. You want realistic (and easier to do) facial animation then check out the Emily video.
When LA Noire looks as good as emily then I'll say is a step forward.
More Tech and More Games make me More 8) and =) and OoO and ^_^ and B>)
this tech is amazing. another really cool technique is to use every single pore as a motion capture dot. they have been doing that for a while, and it is awesome
now im curious about this game because i have not found much else besides what gameinformer has said about the game so if anyone can give me mor einformation that would be most appreciated
Other developers should get in on this type of tech. It's incredible!
shoulda stuck with it being a ps3 exclusive. the faces would of looked a whole lot better. pores and freckles and such with a whole lot more animation.
Keith Szarabajaka is an amazing voice actor. His talent is perfect for a game that requires the best available, especially LA Noire because of all this new amazing tech.
looks sick probably wudnt play it but looks awsum
I think Mass Effect 3 should use tech like this. Mass Effect 1 and 2 look great, but not nearly as good as this.
