We haven't heard much about the PlayStation Vita exclusive Killzone: Mercenary since its announcement at GamesCom back in August, but today Sony released a new trailer that shows some impressive gameplay, and lets us know when we will be able to get our hands on it.

Killzone: Mercenary is set for release on September 17, and you can check out the new trailer below.

I see that it's impressive of how this type of game is playable on such a small system; but Sony really needs to stop with this series. And on a second note, am I the only person who feel they should stop making their AAA games into Vita adaptions? Resistance? Uncharted? Now Killzone?

I actually really like the concept, and the visuals are pretty nice considering it's on the Vita.

Looks pretty impressive for a handheld game, but I think the Vita needs some REAL and original games, not just spinoffs of their AAA PS3 franchises. I don't have a Vita or plan on getting one, but I hate to see video games flop

Looks pretty good! I am liking the environment variety shown, although it looks like there were some frame rate problems. Although, that is far from representative of the final product.

This had better be solid! We need something to breathe life into the Vita. I still have several titles to finish but I would really like to add an in depth fps to my collection. Multiplayer is going to have to be tight; people won't pay forty dollars for an eight hour campaign. Please do not disappoint, Killzone!

Wow, a Vita game that looks like a competent shooter with content... So the Vita specific features are gonna suck, the graphics will be criticized even though it's a portable game, and someone's going to be talking about frame rates and lag for MP. Optimistic note: maybe they'll actually design an appropriately deep yet not too complex shooter for mobile gaming... it's not that hard to do. Madfinger's pulled it off on phones, and so did Gameloft.
