New Trailer Shows How To Import Your Own Music

Since the announcement of KickBeat, the rhythm beat-em-up from a studio best known for its pinball games, we've known that you can import your own music to be played. The latest trailer for the game shows exactly how that works.

If you've ever calibrated your instruments in Rock Band or Guitar Hero, then the process of bringing in your own music into KickBeat might look familiar. Before KickBeating, you have to set the tempo and rhythm of your music by pressing a button in the proper time. The video below shows off a lot of music with consistent techno-rhythms. It's unclear if other genres of music like jazz or metal will be compatible, but Zen Studios says that his has been experimenting with all kinds of genres.

KickBeat is coming to PlayStation 3 and Vita on September 3, and it will be a Cross-Buy title, meaning one purchase will merit you both versions of the game. For more on the game, check out the previous trailers for KickBeat.

The game reminds me of Snoop Dogg's Way of the Dogg a little bit. Maybe that's just me.

  • I see alot of AKG in my future

  • Is it just me, or did it seem like there was no change in the combat for the different genres? Seems like the game was just doing whatever despite what the music was.
  • Lets import every Cannibal Corpse album.
  • Import all the Vocaloids!
  • Is it just me or does it look way too easy once you import you own music? you know the beat so you know when they come in and you can just repeat the same thing.

  • What happens when the tempo changes mid-song? Would the calibration suddenly be off?
