NIS America has announced today that the platformer Htol#niq: The Firefly Diary will be coming to North America this February. Don’t bother trying to pronounce the first part of that title; htol#niq is an abbreviation for Hotaro no Nikki.

Firefly Diary follows the exploits of a Mion, a young, amnesiac girl lost in a labrynthine ruin. Unsure of where to go, Mion follows two fireflies – one light, one dark — as they guide her through the maze.

Players control the fireflies using the PS Vita’s touch controls, leading Mion through the World of Light and the World of Shadow. Along the way, they’ll need to evade dangerous machines and macabre traps that’ll do Mion in if they’re not careful.

If you’re the type of gamer who likes to more with your game, you might want to check out The Firefly Diary collector’s edition. Sold exclusively through the NIS Online Store, this set comes with a copy of the game, a CD of the original soundtrack, an art book, and a collector’s box.

The Firefly Diary’s standard edition costs $20 and its collector’s edition costs $30. Both will be available exclusively on Vita Febraury 24. Check out our massive gallery below for your first look at the game.
