Is the track moving to slow for you? Well than I have a guide for you! Welcome to 5 ways how to be an Expert in Guitar Hero!

1. Dont focus on where you put your fingers on the frets.

2. Be ready for some hard chords at intense speeds.

3. Practice Guitar Battles with "Lou" from GH3.

4. Horde star power for tricky solos.

5. NEVER itch your nose during a song without pausing!!!

6. When hitting fast single notes keep your finger on green as you do tricky solos(note)-Keeping your finger on green will not cancel out higher notes unless a double note is hit so let up on green when a double note comes(unless of course the note has green in it).

Blog Post: It is GH time!!!

Guitar Hero series have been around for quite long. Since their beginning in the Plastation 2, people have been blown away by the amazing gameplay GH gave us. Although there may be some commercial copies around trying to copy GH (yes... I mean RB), GH's unique essence always stays and GH 5 is the comeback of that essence.

The game looks great and feels great. Some major apparitions have been added to the game, including (sorry about the spoiler.. I just ca not contain it xD) the amazing Carlos Santana, Kurt C from Nirvana and Matt B from MUSE. You start up with 85 songs picked for a special individual reason each one. Add to that the GH 4 and GH Smash Hits song transfer along with all the GH 4 DLC transfer you own. The game offers lots of multiplayer modes and a cool jump in feature that let you shred anytime with your friends without the need to start all over again. The online aspect is simply amazing letting you play with up to 8 players. The rockstar creator has been amazingly polished and the song creator may not be that perfect but it is there and there are some cool creations done by some people around the world.

But why 9 Ratchet? Well... no guitar duels. It would have been amazing to play a GH duel with Carlos Santana xD Anyway pick a GH 5 copy today. If you are a pro GHer or simply someone who has fun, you must own this game. If you like commercial, easy songs that a GH pro can beat without practicing, go for RB LOL I am sooo bad XP

Blog Post: Not Much Fun Anymore

The game as a whole I don't mind. What I don't like is that now a new Guitar Hero game comes out every three months. The game was ok but I don't feel it changed much from World Tour and this will probably be the last guitar hero game I buy. I wish they could take a year and come out with 1 really fun game and support that game with good DLC rather than coming out with a new game every few months.

Blog Post: One of the best Guitar Heros yet.

After the "glory days" of guitar hero (A.K.A. Guitar Hero 2 and 3) can any new guitar hero game come close? The answer is yes, as Neversoft has shown in the latest installment of the rhythm game genre. The visuals have gotten a fresh upgrade, the setlist seems better to me (but then again, music is subjective), and the new party play is brilliant. Rarely do features work exactly as the claims, but this is one of those rare times. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Guitar Hero 5 beats Rock Band 2 in terms of playability, song setlist, and even difficulty (which Guitar Hero 5's predecessor Guitar Hero World Tour had little to speak of).

The music studio is new and improved, and the charting is very accurate (with the exception of Sympathy For The Devil, where you are forced to play the piano as guitar). The new challenges, such as getting certain note streaks on the different instruments and only up strumming on bass, add variety and, well, challenge to songs you previously wouldn't have played or would have just 4-starred and said "screw it."

They've also taken out the non-sensical story line and made it just about the music. While this takes some of the humor away from the game, it also makes the gameplay quicker and more concise.

Really the only down points I can think of are that there is no option for separate instrument careers (I liked this about Van Halen and Metallica) and the timing window to hit notes is still too big. Rock Band's songs aren't actually harder, they just seem that way because the timing window is just a fraction of a bit smaller. But it's enough to make a noticeable difference, and it seriously decreases the difficulty of the game. So if you absolutely loved re-trying "Jordan" 500 times, then I suppose you won't find as much of a challenge in this game. But for the rest of the hardcore (and casual) guitar hero players, this is definitely worth a pick-up.

Blog Post: An Overworked Rocker Keeps The Riffs Coming

You can’t knock Neversoft for resting on its laurels. In what seems like the umpteenth GH title released this year, the company delivers yet more solid work. Guitar Hero 5 is clearly aimed at correcting some gripes shared by long-term fans of the series.

Lots of legacy issues concerning the user interface have been fixed. There are now multiple tracklist sorting options. Signing in and out of multiplayer games in career mode is much easier. Most impressive is the new no-fail Party Play mode, which allows you to jump into a song from the title screen with the press of a button. From there, friends can jump in and out of multiplayer at will and can even change instruments on the fly. This emphasis on accessibility is mirrored in the Quickplay mode, which unlocks all 85 of the game’s songs from the get-go. In addition, all Guitar Hero: World Tour downloadable songs and (for a nominal fee) nearly all of the on-disc songs can be imported into GH 5, and will even work with the game’s new features. I think I speak for all Guitar Hero fans when I say, “It’s about damn time.” [Excerpt]

On the gameplay side, there’s a host of new “Rockfest” multiplayer modes that, frankly, I found a lot more interesting in theory than in practice. They all have various ways of awarding scores and placement, but at the end of the day it all comes down to hitting the notes correctly. More compelling were the Bonus Challenges, which are included in every song in Career mode, with three levels of success (Gold, Platinum, and Diamond). Some of these might include whammying for a certain number of seconds, or scoring a certain number of points in Star Power. For experienced players, it adds another layer of competition to the game, and allows you to unlock a variety of in-game extras. You’ll also find enhancements to the online and GHTunes studio mode.

Even with this long list of new features, it’s Guitar Hero through and through, and at this point I doubt we’re ever going to see anything radically new from the series. For most fans, this game comes down to the tracklist, which is one of the strongest to date. From Dylan to Children of Bodom, it’s extremely diverse and for the most part well selected. The dumb plotlines of past games are cut out entirely, leaving only sponsorship challenges and in-game celebrity cameos to suffice as a loose narrative.

However, forcing Johnny Cash to cavort around onstage with the now playable Live Avatars is just humiliating. (By the way, perhaps it would have been better to leave Kurt Cobain out of the game entirely if you were going to be so tacky as to allow players to have him jumping up and down like an idiot to a Blink 182 song as a playable character. Seriously gross.)

Guitar Hero 5 is a well-done sequel with high quality production values and a good feature set. If something seems, well, missing, I guess that’s just the natural passage of time. The music genre has been extremely successful, but I’m not sure the crazy days of 2007 are ever coming back. Come to think of it, at that last party I went to, no one even suggested playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Blog Post: An Overworked Rocker Keeps The Riffs Coming

You can’t knock Neversoft for resting on its laurels.
