I mean RB), GH's unique essence always stays and GH 5 is the comeback of that essence.

The game looks great and feels great. Some major apparitions have been added to the game, including (sorry about the spoiler.. I just ca not contain it xD) the amazing Carlos Santana, Kurt C from Nirvana and Matt B from MUSE. You start up with 85 songs picked for a special individual reason each one. Add to that the GH 4 and GH Smash Hits song transfer along with all the GH 4 DLC transfer you own. The game offers lots of multiplayer modes and a cool jump in feature that let you shred anytime with your friends without the need to start all over again. The online aspect is simply amazing letting you play with up to 8 players. The rockstar creator has been amazingly polished and the song creator may not be that perfect but it is there and there are some cool creations done by some people around the world.

But why 9 Ratchet? Well... no guitar duels. It would have been amazing to play a GH duel with Carlos Santana xD Anyway pick a GH 5 copy today. If you are a pro GHer or simply someone who has fun, you must own this game. If you like commercial, easy songs that a GH pro can beat without practicing, go for RB LOL I am sooo bad XP

What I don't like is that now a new Guitar Hero game comes out every three months. The game was ok but I don't feel it changed much from World Tour and this will probably be the last guitar hero game I buy. I wish they could take a year and come out with 1 really fun game and support that game with good DLC rather than coming out with a new game every few months.

One of the best Guitar Heros yet.

After the "glory days" of guitar hero (A.K.A. Guitar Hero 2 and 3) can any new guitar hero game come close? The answer is yes, as Neversoft has shown in the latest installment of the rhythm game genre. The visuals have gotten a fresh upgrade, the setlist seems better to me (but then again, music is subjective), and the new party play is brilliant. Rarely do features work exactly as the claims, but this is one of those rare times. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Guitar Hero 5 beats Rock Band 2 in terms of playability, song setlist, and even difficulty (which Guitar Hero 5's predecessor Guitar Hero World Tour had little to speak of).

The music studio is new and improved, and the charting is very accurate (with the exception of Sympathy For The Devil, where you are forced to play the piano as guitar). The new challenges, such as getting certain note streaks on the different instruments and only up strumming on bass, add variety and, well, challenge to songs you previously wouldn't have played or would have just 4-starred and said "screw it."

They've also taken out the non-sensical story line and made it just about the music. While this takes some of the humor away from the game, it also makes the gameplay quicker and more concise.

Really the only down points I can think of are that there is no option for separate instrument careers (I liked this about Van Halen and Metallica) and the timing window to hit notes is still too big. Rock Band's songs aren't actually harder, they just seem that way because the timing window is just a fraction of a bit smaller. But it's enough to make a noticeable difference, and it seriously decreases the difficulty of the game. So if you absolutely loved re-trying "Jordan" 500 times, then I suppose you won't find as much of a challenge in this game. But for the rest of the hardcore (and casual) guitar hero players, this is definitely worth a pick-up.
