The lights are on
Update: Codemasters has just sent over some new screens for the game to go along with its debut trailer, and you can check out both below.
Original Story: When Codemasters released Grid back in 2008, racers immediately dialed into the game's tuned-for-fun handling, multi-discipline approach, and innovative Flashback feature (which has since been adopted by just about every racer out there). With all due respect to Codemasters' other racing series since then like F1 and Dirt, we've been anxiously waiting for the Grid franchise to return – and in 2013 it will.
Judging by the first trailer for the game below, it looks like we can expect all of the series' staples to return with a slick new sheen that Codemasters has been perfecting since we last saw the series. Fierce competition, different racing series, and a mix of real and fictional tracks from around the world will be just the tip of the iceberg.
According to CVG, Flashbacks will return, albeit in a new way, and multiplayer (which includes split-screen) will be separate from single-player – complete with its own progression system and usage of Codemasters' RaceNet.
We're also curious if the original title's career format where you hire drivers and court sponsors will also return, and if so, in what form.
A lot has happened in the video game racing world since Grid impressively made its mark, and we can't wait to see how Codemasters hopes to move things forward once again with this title.

Alright, I never played the first one. So I'm gonna keep my eye on this.
Still one of my favorite racing games of all time. The feel of perfectly sliding around the corner on insane really gave you a rush with 0 flashbacks, and I still have yet to find a game where you can race for the lead against your own teamate! In AI standards, the game is completely solid, but bringing a number 2 to the table will just blow the rest of the genre away.
car nice race interesting like
Grid 2 was the first racing game I ever bought. Playing it on PSN was awesome as hell because I was the only american in a "Euro Race", and let me tell all of you, the french do not like losing to us lol but you still meet some cool guys that complement ur skills, which is really cool. The drifting was very exciting, very smooth, and addicting. There were many times where I lost track of time trying to beat the Japanese at their own game.....I got my a** handed to me lol but I still won some. Above all els, Grid 2 is a game i've been waiting a long, LONG time to come out. Grid 2 is going to be legendary around the world
Been waiting for this since Dirt2
They need to make damage optional, the first one was *** for that reason.
That mustang is sweet... oh man!!!!
