The lights are on
Developer Spiders made their mark with cult titles like Mars: War Logs, its sequel, The Technomancer, and the Witcher-esque Bound By Flame. Their next title is GreedFall, an RPG with an old-timey colonial aesthetic and mysterious fantasy elements.
The teaser trailer gives us a brief look at a man hunting a non-human woman with a musket and flintlock pistol before being attacked by some sort of wild, or perhaps summoned, beast. The striking art style is a result of the team's inspiration: the Baroque art of 17th century Europe.
Greedfall is still a mysterious title. We don't know how combat will play out, but Spiders is promising that there will be multiple ways to tackle objectives, from combat and stealth to diplomacy and deception. Greedfall is currently targeting a 2018 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Looks very cool
Thematically, it reminds me of Agni's Philosophy. I haven't liked any of their games yet, but this looks interesting at least.
Terrible title. Hopefully the game is good.
I actually liked Bound by Flames and the Technomancer. Hopefully they have better voice actors this time around though!
The folks at Spiders sure are dedicated, I'll give them that. Kinda sorta liked Bound by Flame, didn't think Technomancer was that great, but I just can't help but encourage them to keep making games, even if they aren't the best. That trailer looks great though.
If they can build a solid combat system, I'll be sold but none of their previous games have had that.
Well, the name is awful and the trailer doesn't tell me anything...
I don't mind the title at all. And sure, their games may not be the best things ever or be for everybody, but they are at least trying things. I'm still rooting for these guys.
It would be awesome if they can pull off a story-driven Bloodborne-esque game, but I'm not confident. Bound by Flame was good for what it was, but the Technomancer was a slog.
I played their previous titles, Mars War Logs, Bound by Flame and Technomancher and while the combat got a bit repetative and the boss fights are just stupid. They have made solide improvements with each title. Triple A titles are expensive to make and they aren't close to there yet but there is a lot to like about the games they have made. I'll definately buy their next.
It looks interesting. I look forward to seeing more on this.
Hope they're getting better. There other games weren't too bad but there's a lot of room for improvement.
