INTRO : Grand Theft Auto V

user posted image

Grand Theft Auto 5 (also known as Grand Theft Auto V and GTA5 ) is the "fifth" game in the Grand Theft Auto series from developer Rockstar Games. While there have been other full-fledged GTA games (like GTA Chinatown Wars, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, etc.), the "5" in this case represents the fifth installment of the game's "main" story that started anew with the nameless protagonist in Grand Theft Auto 3.

GTA 5 Gameplay

As soon as it was revealed that GTA V would feature three main protagonists, many were intrigued by the prospect of playing the main storyline with friends.

Unfortunately co-operative gameplay will not feature in the main component, but Rockstar will instead offer a significant multiplayer component.

Multiplayer will play a big part in GTA V, and will include a large component like that of its predecessor, GTA IV.

It is not currently known exactly how the multiplayer will work, but it has been confirmed that 'Crews', which were most recently seen in Max Payne 3, will also be used in Grand Theft Auto V .

The 'Crew' mechanic makes use of Rockstar's Social Club, which has been in use since the release of Red Dead Redemption. By creating a 'Crew' in a game such as Max Payne 3, players will be able to port across their character between the two games.

Stealing Vehicles

Does this need explaining? As usual we can expect to jack many of the vehicles in GTA 5.  Remember that not all citizens will let you take their car without issue. The cops will notice you breaking in or tugging people out as well as car alarms giving them the heads-up that the car isn't yours so take a quick look around before trying anything.

Another obvious feature is missions. Rockstar loves telling stories and making their games truly playable movies. Progress the story by playing through missions. They'll involve plenty of driving with chances of shootouts and running from the law. A simple mission may go awry without notice

Swimming / Diving

While confirming GTA V would release in Spring 2013, Rockstar mentioned that the game would stretch "from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean." It seemed extremely likely that swimming and possibly diving would make a comeback in Grand Theft Auto 5. The statement also made us wonder what kind  vehicles of would help us reach the depths of the ocean...

At the very start of December 24th, 2012, Rockstar released more screenshots featuring a person with diving equipment (swimming near a large shark) and a small submarine:

Character          Customization

In GTA IV we had a selection of clothing to customize Niko. Grand Theft Auto 5 will continue this for each protagonist. There will not be RPG elements such as muscle and fat gain.

Strangers      /      Random Encounters

In GTA IV there were a number of "Random" Pedestrians for us to find and complete simple missions for. Red Dead Redemption  featured these types of side missions as Strangers. RDR also introduced random world events where the player could intervene in various occurrences from stagecoach robberies to damsels in distress - although sometimes it was a trap. Grand Theft Auto V will feature these types of side missions in the form of hitchhikers, police chases, etc.

Climbing Obstacles

Escaping the law or sneaking around an enemy building requires more actions than just jumping 5 feet forward. Over the past few years Rockstar has improved our ability to scale fences, get across ledges, and go where paths can't take us. A feature that didn't make it into GTA IV was the ability to climb telephone poles. L.A. Noire featured climbing up pipes on buildings so such a feature could make its way into GTA V.
