The game is fun, the cars are gorgeous, the clubs are inviting, the characters are funny, and the side jobs (drug runs are my favorite) are always fresh. I prefer this DLC over The Lost and The Damed.

This has to be my favorite GTA game before Red Dead Redemption. You can go to the club get waisted and then wake up in an unfamiliar place. I'm sure everyone eligable to play this game already has, if you haven't then you want to. just about the only thing i don't like is not being able to buy clothes for your character, also you cant go to the comedy club as you could with Niko and i think that you should have the same places as GTA IV or more. Anyways it's a great game, buy it play it and game on.

Tony seems too love sex and the ladies seem too love him! I swear he has sex every minute. This has too be the best GTA ive played, the multiplayer is fun, and the story is one of the best stories ive ever played! 9.75!

Let me first say, I love the idea of adding content to existing games to fill the gaps between new titles. Especially when it adds as much to the series as The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony have.

Although The Lost and Damned add-on provided a more tight-knit story and more realistic feel, it didn't provide the over the top, unrelentless action as The Ballad of Gay Tony did. Also Rockstar is one of the few companies that put out games that i actually find genuinely funny. The scenes with Roman and Brucie, and the new characters of Mori and Yusif had me laughing out loud. Some scenes served to answer your questions of "what were these characters up to while i was running amuck as Niko?" and there were some to tie together loose plot holes, making the game experience feel complete. I almost wished the game was a full title and not just add-on content, but having said that, for add-on content this game certainly delivers.

The game is just lengthy, difficult and entertaining enough to re-immerse you in the GTAIV world and wraps up the story nicely with a GTA-esque conclusion. Although, I must say, whether this is a good or bad thing, it leaves me wanting more!

The Good

The Ballad of Gay Tony is the second episode of downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV. This time around you play the bodyguard and business partner of Gay Tony, a night club owner, drug addict, and you guessed it, gay guy. The story is solid and your interface is adorned with, shall we say, more eccentric colors like pink and purple.

You can finally welcome back sky diving and parachuting into Liberty City. Spread throughout the downtown area are checkpoints that will teleport you to the rooftops of nearby buildings. Base jumping gets especially fun when you go online and start pushing matches at the top of a skyscraper.

The SWAT tank makes it's way back as well. This nearly indestructible beast comes with a mounted turret and explosive rounds. Later you will gain access to the Buzzard, an attack helicopter with infinite rockets and mini-gun ammo. Of course new weapons, bikes, and other assortments of goodies have been added to the city as well.

The Bad

Some characters you will only meet once or twice in the story. Others are extremely exaggerated, making immersion into the universe nearly impossible.

The difficulty curve feels more like watching your stocks bounce up and down. If you're not gunning your way out of a gang infested territory then you may find yourself helping Mom pay the bills. There is almost no feel for progression.

Apparently none of your gangster friends have their license yet, so you will be spending most of your time driving them from one destination to another. To make matters worse, checkpoints are few and far between. A half-hour mission will have one, maybe two checkpoints, so dying becomes very irritating very quickly.

The original GTA IV and The Lost and Damned came with fun, innovative multiplayer modes like Cops N' Crooks and Witness Protection. The Ballad of Gay Tony delivers none. There was potential for ranked skydiving matches or triathlon races, but we are only given the basic free roam, race, and deathmatch modes.

The Salty
The story fills most of the plot holes left by the first two episodes and comes to a climactic ending worthy of the older Grand Theft Auto games. After completing the campaign you can replay old missions, but chances are you will spend the rest of your time either online or roaming around Liberty City aimlessly.

If you liked Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned DLC, you will definitely have fun with The Ballad of Gay Tony. If the game never got your juices flowing in the first place, this download won't give you a reason to come back.

The Ballad of Gay Tony gets 7 eccentric purple interfaces out of 10.

the advertising for this game was superb. i was so excited about it before i even bought it. and when i did purchase it turned out to be better then i expected. this games explosive missions and awesome story line make it an easy 10 and an easy must buy.

I loved this game, i was so glad that this game started you off with everything, with flash, money and fast cars. i guess thats what attracted me in the first place to GTA, was the ability to become a powerful and wealthy crime lord. I loved the fact that you got to start off that way in this game. The game itself was great, tons of action and great story. if your a fan of gta, get this game now

At the beginning of Grand Theft Auto IV, Eastern European immigrant Niko Bellic starts his pursuit of fame and fortune at the bottom of the social ladder. It’s only fitting that Rockstar Games ends its latest impressive run of open world masterpieces at the other end of the spectrum. The Ballad of Gay Tony is Rockstar North’s song of excess, showcasing Liberty City’s drug-addled trust fund elite, promiscuous socialites, nitro-fueled luxury sportscars, and military-grade weaponry. New protagonist Luis Lopez may roll with the elite, but he certainly isn’t one of them; the Dominican ex-convict grew up pulling off petty crimes in the rough neighborhood of Northwood until legendary nightclub owner Tony Prince took him under his wing. Lopez quickly finds out that a two-bit corner boy and a personal assistant to the rich and famous aren’t so different. As Gay Tony’s once-powerful nightclub empire spirals out of control due to his excessive drug use and outstanding debt to shady loansharks, it’s up to Lopez to do the dirty work and keep the clubs afloat.

Rolling with the rich has its benefits when it comes to crime. Forget the slow progression to explosive weapons most Grand Theft Auto games follow, Lopez has almost immediate access to the finest arms dealers have to offer – attack choppers, APCs, explosive shotguns, sticky bombs, and my favorite, the P90 assault rifle. The creative new missions Rockstar North crafted put these destructive new toys to good use; one minute you’re sinking a luxury yacht with the missile-launching attack chopper, and the next you’re parachuting from 10,000 feet to infiltrate the high-rise offices of the crooked Russian owner of the Liberty City Rampage hockey team. The outlandish nature of most of your missions almost always attracts the attention of the cops, guaranteeing more thrills than your typical GTA fare.

Throughout the story, Luis is torn between his allegiance to the lavish new lifestyle Tony provides him and the family and friends he’s left behind in Northwood. Players won’t feel as bad leaving his disgruntled mother and hoodrat friends in their wake. The drug war shootouts Lopez gets into with his childhood friends may be made from traditional GTA bread and butter, but I found myself ignoring them in favor of the more explosive missions from Gay Tony or spoiled Arab playboy Yusuf Amir.

Luis may feel conflicted hanging in the old neighborhood, but he’s clearly in his element when the drinks are flowing and the dance floor is bumping at the nightclubs. In the clubs, players can remove troublemakers, do shots with bartenders, shower friends with champagne in the VIP room, and dance with the ladies on the dancefloor. Show her all the right moves and she’ll likely show you hers in the bathroom stall. Make sure you work at least one management shift at the nightclub as well; your office employee in the short skirt will make it worth your time.

When Luis isn’t taking orders and doing favors for his out of control friends, players can indulge in the fantastic base jumping and cagefighting side missions or go on a rampage with the attack chopper or APC. The multiplayer also gets new content to amp up the action; the frantic GTA races now feature nitro boosts, and the new deathmatch maps focus on close quarters combat.

While I preferred the tight-knit story of brotherhood and betrayal in The Lost and Damned, The Ballad of Gay Tony delivers more explosive weapons, death-defying missions, and off-the-wall characters. Don’t miss your chance to close out the GTA IV experience in style.
