&lt;p&gt;Ubisoft has had a few &lt;a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/games/ghost_recon_future_soldier/b/xbox360/archive/2012/04/26/ubisoft-shows-off-gunsmith-mode-in-new-trailer.aspx" title="bizarre"&gt;bizarre&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/05/11/1916217.aspx" title="missteps"&gt;missteps&lt;/a&gt; in the media blitz leading up to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier&amp;#39;s release. Fortunately, the game&amp;#39;s launch trailer plays it pretty straight. The clip shows off some of the game&amp;#39;s scenarios and also sets up a bit of its story.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The launch trailer shows off what happens when a missile defense system has to take out a threat in a crowded urban area (spoiler: it&amp;#39;s not pleasant), as well as how the Ghosts work together in the field. The game puts an emphasis on high-tech gadgetry, and you&amp;#39;ll see remote drones, invisibility suits, and more in the trailer.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This groan-worthy live action trailer shows off the
genuinely impressive customization Future Soldier&amp;#39;s Gunsmith mode
supports.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The newest trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is real
stupid. It takes place at a fake &amp;quot;Gamer&amp;#39;s Anonymous&amp;quot; meeting, in which a
stereotypically nerdy gamer discusses Future Soldier&amp;#39;s Gunsmith mode while he
recalls getting high, neglecting his personal hygiene, and pretending to
pleasure himself in his mom&amp;#39;s house. Its idiocy rivals that of Ubisoft&amp;#39;s Mr.
Caffeine, but the actual information regarding the game&amp;#39;s gun customization is
interesting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In addition to the 20+ million gun combinations, Gunsmith
mode lets players use Kinect or PlayStation Move to customize firearms (the
voice command system looks cool, at least), and players can download a free
mobile app to create custom weapons while on the go. There&amp;#39;s more information to be seen in the video, but you&amp;#39;ll have to steel yourself against some pretty lame gamer stereotypes to see it.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Our time with the Horde-like mode leaves us hoping for more innovation in the full Future Soldier package.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We&amp;rsquo;re about six weeks from the release of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and Ubisoft is giving PAX East attendees an early look at the game&amp;rsquo;s Horde-like Guerrilla mode. With fifty waves of enemies to blast through, the publisher claims that a full playthrough of the mode will take gamers over five hours. We had a chance to play through four waves on the show floor, and the mode seems to be little that we haven&amp;rsquo;t seen before.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ubisoft&amp;rsquo;s demo started us on wave five, and we were already outfitted with a selection of weapons and support items. At the outset of each round, airdrops that represent new weapons and items are indicated with red and blue smoke, respectively. Each of the four team members has about thirty seconds to grab what they want, set up claymores, and get in position. Once the timer hits zero, a new wave of enemies enters the battle.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Teamwork is necessary to make it through these waves, and tagging enemies is critical to success. I found that whenever I pointed out an enemy location, it was a matter of seconds before someone on my team took him down with a few assault rifle rounds. Considering how quickly you can be taken down yourself, it&amp;rsquo;s to everyone&amp;rsquo;s benefit if you call out for a revive as soon as you&amp;rsquo;re injured.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The four waves I played tasked us with protecting a glowing blue HQ, which we defended from cover. On the rare occasion a member of my team did a roadie run through open air, it wasn&amp;rsquo;t long before he was bleeding out on the ground. Players will have to defend this static primary objective for ten waves at a time before the location moves.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Wave streaks are available as you progress, and the Ubisoft representative hesitantly told me they were similar to Call of Duty&amp;rsquo;s killstreak rewards. I only saw two during my time with the game, and they were a UAV and optic camouflage. There were still three slots for additional streak rewards, but they weren&amp;rsquo;t on display at this event.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;While nothing about the mode seemed broken, I walked away feeling that Guerrilla seemed very uninspired. It may have only been four waves out of fifty, but nothing felt particularly original or entertaining. It&amp;rsquo;s just one mode in a bigger game, but it left me hoping for more innovation in the overall package of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ghost Recon: Future Soldier launches on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 22, but players can get their hands on the game&amp;#39;s multiplayer action before then. Ubisoft has announced details on the beta, which is set to go live in a few short weeks.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The beta will begin April 19 and will continue through May 2 on both platforms. Players can check out the rifleman, engineer, and scout classes, and two game modes. In Conflict, players race to complete objectives strewn throughout the map. After 15 minutes, the team with the highest score wins. Saboteur, set to launch April 26, has players scrambling to find a bomb and then deliver its explosive payload at the opposing team&amp;#39;s base. Each mode is playable on the Pipeline and Mill levels.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the Xbox 360, players can access the beta through their copy of Tom Clancy&amp;#39;s Splinter Cell Conviction or by preordering Future Soldier from GameStop. PlayStation Plus members will get access to the PlayStation 3 version of the beta.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In addition to revealing details on the game&amp;#39;s beta, Ubisoft has announced the Ghost Recon Network. Players can track their in-game stats, change their loadouts, or manage their squads online using a Web browser or an iOS or Android device. The service is scheduled to roll out when the game is released on May 22. Members of the multiplayer beta can get a sneak peek at some of its functionality. &lt;p&gt;Ghost Recon: Future Soldier&amp;#39;s Guerrilla Mode is on display in a new video that arrived today from Ubisoft. The game mode lets you join up with three other players online, or two players via local split screen.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Seemingly a variation on the Horde mode popularized in Gears of War, Guerrilla Mode has your team entering and locking down a location, and then holding down that same location against increasingly dangerous waves of enemies.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Ghost Recon series has long punished renegade lone-wolf types with quick access to the game over screen, and the latest installment looks to be no exception. Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Ghost Recon Future Soldier, in which the series&amp;#39; IP director Adrian Lacy guides viewers through a mission. Some sections are based on stealth, while all-out action is the focus in others. The one thing that holds it all together is an emphasis on team coordination.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The video is pulled from the campaign&amp;#39;s Valiant Hammer mission, featuring four co-op players. As you&amp;#39;ll see, success is made easier when players coordinate the offensive, taking advantage of the Ghosts&amp;#39; tools such as UAV drones, active camouflage, and special optics.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Thanks to some of the great gadgets coming out of U.S. military research and development projects, most of the wars that the Ghosts fight are extremely one-sided. Armed with drones, active camo, and state of the art weapons, these guys have no problem mowing through large patrols in open areas or infiltrating heavily defended positions.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Ubisoft&amp;#39;s latest installment in the Ghost Recon series has a heavy focus on futuristic technology, but the latest trailer focuses more on the game&amp;#39;s similarity to real-life military missions. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Sure, you&amp;#39;ll see a group of Ghosts take out some bad guys. But you&amp;#39;ll also hear the exceedingly dumb phrase, &amp;quot;Only the dead fight fair,&amp;quot; which pretty much makes the whole thing not worth it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;The worst part is that this is only the first of three planned &amp;quot;episodes&amp;quot; in this format. &lt;p&gt;Along with a handful of screens, Ubisoft has released a new video that shows off Ghost Recon: Future Soldier&amp;#39;s many animations.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The main character alone has over 2,500 animations, and all the motion capture was performed by former Navy Seals operatives, so it should look pretty realistic.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Check out the developer diary below, and look out for Future Soldier on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 22. A PC version has been announced, but will arrive after the console versions.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ghost Recon fans have been waiting a long time to get their hands on Ubisoft&amp;#39;s latest title. I&amp;#39;m sure the publisher hopes this new trailer makes the wait easier. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This two minute video gives you a taste of all the sweet guns and gadgets you&amp;#39;ll be able to use and all the destruction you&amp;#39;ll cause.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ghost Recon Future Soldier is out May 22 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;After being delayed seemingly every six months, E3 2011 proved that at least Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is still alive. This trailer proves it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The fancy overlays you see around guns&amp;#39; barrels aren&amp;#39;t just a stylized treatment for the trailer &amp;ndash; it&amp;#39;s info about your surroundings and targets. As it&amp;#39;s called Future Soldier, there is also other technology at your disposal such as drones and even invisibility cloaks.&lt;/p&gt;
