Before there was Diablo, there were four adventurers who just couldn’t stop shooting food. In 2014, Gauntlet made a comeback on PC, iterating on the classic dungeon-diving adventures of the Warrior, Valkyrie, Wizard, and Elf. This summer, a version of that game arrives on PlayStation 4.

Developer Arrowhead (Magicka 1, Helldivers) is retooling the game for its console debut. “This however, will not just be a straight port, but a stronger, cooler and more slayer-y version of the one we released on the PC,” writes game director Emil Englund. “We’ve been shaping up a lot of the assets in the game, both Characters and Environments, as well as improving on the game mechanics.”

Players will have more hero abilities to play around with, as well as a new game mode. Because equipment plays a bigger role in the Slayer Edition, all four players will be able to simultaneously tweak loadouts (a change from the PC version).

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will be out in August for PS4. It’s priced at $19.99. No other platforms have been discussed yet. For more, check out our review of the PC version.
