The lights are on
Telltale Games has released the first trailer for its upcoming, six-part Game of Thrones episode game. If you were concerned about it being separate from the HBO series, you’re in for a treat.
The trailer below features two familiar faces (with one of them narrating the brief video). We also get a closer look at Ironrath, the seat of House Forrester, which has traditionally been bannermen to House Stark, guardians of the north.
A number of familiar characters will appear throughout the season, including Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon). As you might recall, Telltale’s take on Game of Thrones is focused on House Forrester (with five playable characters).
Telltale isn't revealing which of the thirteen members of the house are playable yet, but we have the exclusive reveal of one of them, Asher Forrester (above). He’s a trouble-maker, though in his earlier years that was limited to bar fights and womanizing. As he grew older, he nearly took House Forrester to war.
Here’s what Telltale has to say about Asher:
Asher had always been a rebellious youth – brawling in taverns, sleeping with whores, and finding ways to raise his father’s ire. But his life took a dark turn when, at age seventeen, he fell in love with Gwyn Whitehill, the eldest daughter of his father’s bitter rival.
Bloodshed ensued and Lord Forrester faced a grim choice: go to war, or exile Asher across the Narrow Sea. He chose the latter. Asher remains in Essos to this day, living as a sellsword, trying not to think about the life he left behind.
There’s no release date yet for the first episode, Iron from Ice, but Telltale suggests we won’t have to wait long. You’ve still got a little time to catch up through season three, as the series spans the fourth season of he show.
Note: This story originally asserted that Asher is definitely one of the playable characters. Telltale reached out to let us know that it has not yet revealed which of the 13 members of House Forrester we'll be playing as. We've corrected the story and apologize for the error.

Dude needs laxatives.
Ugh, I wasn't concerned that it wasn't going to be tied to the series, I was worried that it would be. I'm still excited to see how it pans out, but there's much more trepidation of this being the standard side-story slightly canonical, but not really that licensed games of older years tended to be
I'm laying my bets that TT takes their games to a whole new level with GOT!
Sweet. I'm very excited. Im caught up through the first 3 seasons and I can't wait till January to get season 4.
I hope it's better than the show itself.
There's no way Asher isn't a playable character. If he wasn't, they wouldn't bother making a model for him considering he could just be mentioned. I'm just curious as to what his role is going to be. A red herring a la a lot of the Essos plots? A game-changer for House Forrester when he returns? I just hope he doesn't come back to Westeros and immediately die.
