The demo for Insomniac Games' first multi-platform title Fuse hits today, and if you're curious, you can check out its trailer before diving into the demo – which packs a punch itself.

The demo takes place halfway through the game, and true to the game's conceit it gives you the chance to play with four people online or off (via splitscreen), and with Fuse's drop-in/out co-op.

Fuse comes on for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 28. For more on the title, take a look at this trailer detailing the motivations of the game's bad guys, Raven.

The latest trailer for Insomniac's Fuse sets up the story by giving you the perspective of the villains. They do have their own motivations. They're not evil for no good reason, after all.

Fuse is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (a first for developer Insomniac games) on May 28.

Insomniac Games, EA, and Radical Entertainment have teamed up to introduce players to the cast of Fuse. While known for Spyro and the Ratchet & Clank series, the studio is no stranger to more mature subject matter.

Fuse, which has undergone a shift in direction since it was first announced at E3 2011, retains its team of four Overstrike 9 members. In this new motion comic, players will get the chance to learn a bit about Dalton, Izzy, Jacob, and Naya.

Fuse, which is Insomniac's first multiplatform project, is slated for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 28, 2013.

Earlier today, Insomniac streamed a long portion of gameplay though one of Fuse's early levels.

Unfortunately, the stream has ended, but you can watch the whole thing in rerun form by heading here. The gameplay starts at about four and a half minutes into the stream, and goes on for about 40 minutes.

Four new videos track each of the playable characters in Insomniac’s upcoming shooter, and between them, a clear vision of Fuse’s action emerges.

Electronic Arts and Insomniac are gearing up for the release of Fuse in the coming months. The PS3 and 360 shooter focuses strongly on cooperative play and crazy weapons – the latter of which has been a longtime strength within Insomniac’s games.

The following four trailers each focus on one of the four characters of Overstrike 9: Dalton, Izzy, Jacob, and Naya. The individual trailers each offer a glimpse of the character’s personality and the unique weapon that will set them apart.

Take a look at the videos, and let us know which character you think looks coolest in the comments section.

Dalton, part of the foursome that makes up the Overstrike 9 team in Insomniac's upcoming game Fuse, explains the rules to being a tattooed man with a gun.

The first rule is one that most professional assassins and mercenaries claim to stick to, always break, and it ends up becoming their downfall, but also their salvation. Dalton is probably different, though.

Fuse is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year, and if you reserve it now you get access to exclusive team extras including upgraded uniforms, customized weapons, and increased damage.

Fuse was already announced as Overstrike last year and was recently teased at PAX, but today developer Insomniac officially announced the title and revealed some new screens for the game.

Fuse is based around the 4-player co-op of the Overstrike 9 team. The special forces unit is called in by the CIA to stop a group known as Raven from stealing a powerful alien energy called Fuse which powers the game's weapons.

Players can combine their weapons and abilities for maximum firepower (you can also switch between party members at will in single-player), and upgrade them by earning and spending Fuse points.

For more on the game, take a look at this teaser talking about the game's characters.

Fuse is scheduled to come out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March.

A Closer Look At Overstrike
