Forza Motorsport 4
At a press preview event of this weekend's PAX Halo Fest proceedings, Forza developer Turn 10 revealed how Master Chief's favorite set of wheels will appear in its latest game.
Forza Motorsport 4's new Autovista mode allows players scope out all aspects of a particular selection of vehicles in the game. Using Kinect or a standard controller, you can zoom in on exterior elements, open up the hood, trunk, and doors, and even start the ignition to see all the in-dash elements come to life. This can be a neat way to check out several cars you can never afford, but what about vehicles that don't exist?
When Forza 4 releases on October 11, fans will be able to get a first look at the Halo 4 version of the Warhog using Autovista. Just like the rest of the cars in the game, you can take a look at the engine and start it up, but you can also get a run down on the turret and an interesting Warthog side story from none other than the voice of Cortana herself (Jen Taylor), who narrates the many points of interest around the vehicle. For instance, did you know that the Warthog's top speed is 78 MPH?
The Warthog in Autovista is considered an Easter Egg, so don't expect to start playing around with it without some serious work in the main Forza 4 career. Despite the exciting potential to actually drive the Warthog in Forza, 343 has already confirmed that the vehicle will not be drivable. Boo!
Take a look at the trailer below to see what it will be like.
