These Trading Cards Are So 80s

If you were a child of the 1980s (or are familiar with the action figures of the era), you might recognize the style of the Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon character cards featured below.

These bring me back to my youth… or they would if Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon were really a game from the 1980s. These look exactly like the kind of thing I cut out of toy packages and kept with my action figures. It was important to know the power ratings, so my friends and I could "authentically" recreate battles between heroes and villains.

You don't have long to wait before Rex Colt, Darling, and Spider take on Sloan's Evil Forces. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon arrives on May 1, 2013, for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC.

  • Sweet!

  • Underwhelming piece of news.. trading cards! Yay...
  • Wow, this just gets weirder.
  • Trading cards. This is the only information I need in able to purchase this game. Regardless if they even put cards in the game, the fact that they made trading cards is all I need. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
  • Even if I didn't play the original, I might just get this because of how *** awesome it is.

  • Am I the only one that still plays yu gi oh?
  • Where is the blood dragon card ?

  • this game just keeps getting better and better!

  • Man, any 80s (or even 90s) kid would've died for cards this cool. If it wasn't 2013, I would've pictured these being on store shelves by now.

  • They are really going all out with the 80's references, are they not? I love it.
  • I'm in.

  • so beast!

  • The character pictures remind me of G.I.Joes.

  • No Spider is not worth a Molotox...maybe a Rex Colt though.

  • Blue-eyes blood dragon.

  • You had me a trading cards! =p

  • This game is going to be a nostalgia nuke to the brain for me. I'm so excited!!

  • I like the little descriptions at the bottom.

  • This is going to be the most fun stand alone spin off from a game in quite a long time.

  • These are pretty awesome. They remind me of the cards that were included on the back of all TMNT figure boxes.
