Fable 2: Swords and Guns? Really?

I didn't know what to expect from Fable 2, having not played the first game, but it turned out to be a great game. The story is solid, the controls work well, (even though the camera is a bit wonky at times), and overall, a good game to invest a few hours in, at least. Although it doesn't have the enormity or customizability that Oblivion or Fallout 3 has, for an rpg, it's rather well worked. I love the fact that your character's appearance is affected by their choices. For example, if you use a lot of magic, then eventually blue ley lines will crisscross your skin. If you're pure of spirit, then your skin will be pure and free of blemishes. But is you're corrupt and evil.....well, let's just say it's rather obvious from your appearence. In terms of combat, ther controls are very solid. The x button is used to pull out your sword and attack, the y button is used for your rifle or pistol, and the b button is used for magic. The magic system is very nicely done. There are spells that you learn, and as you use magic more often and gain skill points, (the red orbs that appear as you bathe an enemy in flames, for instance), you are given the chance to level up a spell of your choice. As your spells level up, you will have to hold b down to charge up that spell. It takes a while to level up your spells, but trust me, seeing your character charge up a raging fireball long enough so that the sky turns red, and then slamming it in the ground as seeing the flames spread out around you in ever-increasing circles....it's extremely gratifying. All in all, it's a rather good game.
