The lights are on
Oftentimes picking up an official license means developers are required to make offshoot games. F1 Race Stars – a kart takeoff of Codemasters' racing series, seems to be one of those cases.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that some F1 racers have big heads, but in the case of F1 Race Stars, we're not talking about their egos. The game embraces the family-fun karting vibe by placing real-life racers like Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso in fantastic versions of actual tracks such as Silverstone, Monoco, and the new F1 track in San Antonio. The video trailer below even shows times when tracks will transform and stretch into the sky. Here's hoping that occurrences like this help the game stand out from the pack.
The game will also feature four-player splitscreen and 12-player online multiplayer, along with a career mode with a championship schedule.
F1 Race Stars hits the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC this November.

Trackmania (and I guess Stunts) are the only racing games I really enjoyed. I hope this can be the same kind of crazy fun.
Well, at least it is something new :D
I like the idea, I really do... I just hope they add enough customization to keep things interesting for the long term.
Haha! Im actually excited about this. This looks like its gonna do a great job at mixing the karting fun experience with actual thrill of racing, and being from code masters we already know this will be focusing on racing while being fun/funny at the same time..... Plus it comes out right around my birthday... AWESOME!
This actually looks pretty fun......as long as the tracks are really good and a lot of customization IM IN
We all know big heads make your car more aerodinamic.
This is awesome, I've been feeling like the racing genre has stagnated from taking itself far too seriously lately. Look at the size of Alonsos eyebrows!
4 player splitscreen is a brilliant idea too for this type of game.
Eh, I have no idea what to make of this. Best of luck? Just don't sully F1's name too much CM.
That actually looks quite good!
While reading the article I thought the game was going to be boring, but after the video and screens I hope this turns out to be lots of fun.
For a game centered on an almost cartoony look, those graphics sure do look very beautiful indeed in the screenshots!
who wants to play this? besides 10 yrs and under codemasters is a great company i love the F 1 series its one of the best racing sims out, ( opinion ) but this pretty g@*!
No Mark Webber!? Guess I'll have to play as Alonso then.
I want this game!
BTW, it's Monaco and the new track is in Austin not San Antonio :P
