Epic Mickey: Power Of Illusion's Confirmed Cameos

by Kyle Hilliard on Oct 02, 2012 at 09:07 AM

Epic Mickey: Power Of Illusion has no qualms with venturing outside of Mickey's close circle of friends to pull in all kinds of characters from a variety of Disney universes. If my first few hours with the game are any indication, Power of Illusion could be rivaling Kingdom Hearts in terms of Disney cameos. These are the characters I can absolutely confirm are appearing in the game.

Goofy - I actually found Goofy during my short playtime, which covered the first two stages.

John Darling - John Darling wasn't one of the characters that headed to the castle after I tracked him down, but he helped me while I was in the level.

Wendy - The second level of the game took place in Peter Pan's London, so seeing Wendy there wasn't too shocking.

Hook - Along with appearing in the front cover of the game, Hook was also the boss I fought at the end of Power of Illusion's demo.

Rapunzel - Along with physically appearing in the level, Rapunzel also made appearances in some of the loading screens.

Beast - Beast is another character I encountered during my playthrough. Beast quickly set up in the castle, and I went off to track down his iconic rose from the film.

Tinkerbell - In this particular screen, Tinkerbell appears to be part of some kind of loading or progress screen, as opposed to having Mickey meet her in person.

Scrooge McDuck - It wasn't until I found Scrooge in the game that I realized that I haven't heard much of anything from Mr. McDuck in years. He was one of my favorite characters as a child. I am happy to see him back in action in the world of video games.

Chesire Cat - I didn't actually seen the Chesire Cat in my hands-on time with the game. This image comes from some of the game's concept art.

The Queen of Hearts - If you take a look at the boxart at the top of the page, you can see the Queen of Hearts in the background.

Aladdin - Aladdin's confirmation comes from a batch of recently released screens. It looks like there is a whole level in Agrabah, if this screen is any indication.

Jafar - If you are in Agrabah, and Aladdin is clearly going to show up, there is a good chance that Jafar isn't too far behind. Also, Jafar is on the cover of the game.

King Tritn - This is another character I wasn't able to see in person, but this concept art seems like pretty good proof that he will be making an appearance.

Mizrabel - Mizrabel technically doesn't count as a cameo. She is Power of Illusion's antagonist. You can see Minnie Mouse being held captive, and Jiminy Cricket hanging out on the floor.

All of the cameos listed above came from only playing the game for about an hour, or they've come from the assorted screenshots and concept art that developer Dreamrift has been willing to offer online. We've only seen a small sampling of the game, so we're fairly confident that this list could be much larger by the time we are able to play the full game.
