The lights are on
Not since Shadow of the Colossus have I played a game so unique, so beautiful, and so surprising. Even after reading GI's review a while back I wasn't convinced that this game was anything more than a bizzaro, not-for-all-tastes adventure that I may try when I had nothing else to do. While I did wait a while to dive into this game, I can wholeheartedly say that I waited far too long. This game is one of the most beautiful, artistic games ever made. I have never seen anything like it. Not even Okami, to which this game is most likely to be compared, comes anywhere near this game's artistic vision. It's truly incredible.
As for the gameplay, it's simplistic but satisfying, and similar to Devil May Cry in its style. In other words, enough fun to see it through to the end. The story is also pretty cool too, with its pseudo-Biblical themes and interesting characters. It can be a bit difficult to follow at first, but once you get your bearings it's a fun tale to follow.
This game is an excellent experience, and any gamer would be doing themselves a favor by trying it out. It is another amazing example of video games as an art form, and a fun one too.
