See Dying Light In Action In This Developer Walkthrough

In stills, Dying Light doesn't look far removed from the developer's other game, Dead Island, but when you see it in motion, it's easy to understand why the two games are very different.

This video below offers a 12-minute walkthrough of gameplay, showing off zombies, free-running, side-missions, human enemies, and the game's namesake, the danger of night.

Dying Light is coming to current and next-gen consoles. For more on the game, check out our first look, our E3 coverage, and an explanation of how it differs from Dead Island. Dying Light is planned for release in 2014.

  • not a fan of zombie games but this sample has me interested.

  • i want to kill those things at night

  • The similarities between this and Dead Island is outrageous. Apparently, this studio doesn't know how to make another type of game? If people buy this game and still have the nerve to complain about Call of Duty/ Madden yearly releases, they are confused to say the least.
  • I'm not a fan of zombie games in general, but this one's really impressing me. I actually want to play it

  • I like the look behind you affect.

  • I'm really excited for this but you can basically see that this is Techland going forward with Dead Island under a different title since Deep Silver owns Dead Island. I hope the story improves and they continue to refine the combat especially with guns. The graphics were really impressive, especially the lighting.

  • The stealth sequence caught me off guard. I'm worried that a lot of what they showed was scripted, but it's neat nonetheless.
  • That night time gameplay looks insane enough to provide you with an airtight ***.

I love the idea of some kind of super zombie that is smart enough and fast enough to follow you while running a complicated course through, around, down, up, and over buildings in a city setting. Seems really tense.

  • This game remind me to I Am Legend movie "with night zombies are coming" and that part when alarm is turned on on his watch. Only thing that is missing is Sam. Really like it.

  • just as Arthur replied I'm blown away that a person able to profit $8004 in one month on the computer. did you read this site http://7.ly/QDq

  • damn that looks awesome. The graphics and gameplay is what dead island should have been

  • This games has had my attention since it was first announced, and I must say that what I've seen so far is extremely promising.

  • Wow, more palm trees...
  • Sold at 5:00

  • Hey a zombie game that actually looks worth playing.

  • Looks a helluva lot better than Dead Island.

  • It looks like everything Dead Island should of been. Dead Island was fun, but this looks so much better; the graphics and effects are much more advanced, the combat looks more brutal, and there's actually a threatening amount of zombies onscreen. I mean seriously, in Dead Island the most zombies I ever fought at once was like nine or ten, but there's dozens onscreen in this.

  • Is this what Dead Island was meant to be?

  • Wow that was more impressive then I was expecting. I already want to play it & it's only in pre alpha. Count me in. I can't wait to see more.

  • I personally liked Dead Island, but Dying Light blows it out of the water, and it's only in its alpha stage! 2014 cannot come soon enough.
